We believe “Don’t say Gay” is extremely dangerous. Look at the research. There 100% needs to be age appropriate discussions for young children around gender and sexuality including consent (being the boss of your body), learning the correct names for body parts, understanding that families come in many forms, and that certain colors or clothes are not exclusive to certain genders, among other topics. Research has shown us time and time again that acceptance of the whole spectrum of gender expression and sexuality has prevented depression and su***de for those at risk and this bill will further alienate any children with gay parents, friends or siblings, or those who are already wrestling with their gender or sexual identity. We must stand up for all our children’s ability to be recognized and supported for exactly who they are.
