This lead to being hired by Foot Cone & Belding to work in their nefarious "Cybertank" on the Levi's account. Syd Garon was one of the directors in the groundbreaking animated cult feature WAVE TWISTERS. Both were active in the heady cyberpunk new media scene around San Francisco. Since then Syd and Chris have gone on to work on commercials, art projects, features, television and documentary; work
ing with people and clients as diverse as Sage Vaughn, Davis Guggenheim, Apple, Google, Diane Von Furstenburg and PBS. Recently they created the animation and title design for the Peabody Award winning documentary AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY: THE EVOLUTION OF GRACE LEE BOGGS, in collaboration with Shepard Fairey’s Studio Number One. They earned the 2015 Golden Eye Award given for outstanding graphics in film for their work on JODOROWSKY’S DUNE. They did graphics for four films shortlisted for the 2015 Academy Awards®: RED ARMY, JODOROWSKY’S DUNE, AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY and MERCHANTS OF DOUBT, and for three films that premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival: CITY OF GOLD, THE NIGHTMARE, and IN FOOTBALL WE TRUST
Their work can also be seen in 2013’s BLACKFISH, which premiered at Sundance and went on to garner 10 awards and 23 nominations. Other credits include 2014’s TOUCH THE WALL, the award-winning LAST CALL AT THE OASIS, and N.A.S.A.: THE SPIRIT OF APOLLO. In 2012, mindbomb films was nominated for an Emmy® for animation and title design on the HBO feature documentary SUPERHEROES.
