Not only do they manage to capture the sweaty, raw, energy of many 90’s indie bands, like the Breeders or Pixies, but they also dare going out on a limb to capture the pop, fuzz pop as they call it. Piece of Pie is proud to release this Friday, April 30th, “Ready” by it’s first International/UK artist, Catherine Ashby benefiting the incredible work of Sea Shepherd. Catherine is a British Folk Americana artist. Laurel Canyon meets the English hills with a stop-off in Nashville on the way.

She is a gifted singer & songwriter inspired by the likes of Sandy Denny, Joni Mitchell, Bobby Gentry & Nick Drake. In 2019 Catherine was awarded a scholarship to perform at The Folk Alliance International Festival in Montreal Canada. Through a series of synchronistic events, kind strangers who became friends, a greyhound bus & a few gigs, Catherine met Grammy award-winning producer Jamie Tate. Taken by her talent & tenacity Jamie soon began working with Catherine on a shared vision for her songs. We are honored to be releasing “Ready” as the first single from that collaboration.

Performers included Phil Collins, Sade, Bryan Ferry, U2, Queen, David Bowie, the Who, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, the Pretenders, Tom Petty, Neil Young, Led Zeppelin, Mick Jagger, and Bob Dylan.
