My wife who is second generation german-ukrainian, has a few quirky sayings. I find it odd as she is not ESL in any way, but things like “close the lights” and “pass me a scissor” are regular occurrences in our house.
When our pair of scissors fell apart a couple years ago, i hung onto the pieces in the junk drawer. Today while doing crafts with the kids, she just asked me to pass her a scissor.

Am I overreacting about this roofing service? I’m having a very frustrating experience in real time.

I sent a detailed email with questions before hiring the company, and the owner assured me he would be on-site the entire time. This morning he told me that he tries to stay away during tear-off. He also said his team would fully tarp my hedges, but as you can see in the photos, they didn’t. Everything looks messy, and I’m starting to feel like I’m not getting the level of service that was promised. They haven’t even started the install yet.

Should I have the contractor redo this mosaic? Gaps seem really bad.

I apologized to him and promised to get it fixed tomorrow so he doesn't have to look at it. Parenting is about choosing your battles!

I hired a plumber to fix a leak and he left my ceiling looking like this ‼️ He told me 'I turn wrenches, I don't slap mud' and that closing the hole is my problem? Excuse me? You opened it, you close it! I am refusing to pay his $600 invoice until this is smooth and painted. Am I the bad guy here?!!!! 😡

Came home yesterday and found that my downstairs neighbour had put this contraption on my natural gas furnace vent/exhaust pipe. It’s purpose aside(no idea why she put it on there 🤯), is it safe to have that on the exhaust pipe? It does slowly drip water from condensation, my worry is it freezes and blocks the furnace venting. Thanks for any help!

The homeowner is refusing to pay me because they say the paint 'doesn't match'. ‼️ I explained to them that latex paint takes 6 to 8 months to 'cure' and darken to match the old wall. They called me a liar?? People have zero patience these days. Do you guys think that Im the bad guy????

Neighbours asking us to leave a gap from their extension when building our rear extension to allow for pipe maintenance.
Hi all,
We are digging our foundations and our neighbours have expressed concern that we are creating our wall too close to theirs and they won't have 1m space to do maintenance on these boiler/kitchen pipes. They have built approx 150mm from the boundary line and are asking us to leave 850mm (hilarious). We have obviously refused and I am trying to figure out a plan to address this in an amicable way. My builder said he can relocate their pipes for an extra fee but I feel it's not my responsibility to take on the full cost of their poor choice of putting pipes here. Is this even allowed according to building regs? Theirs was built in 2012. Thanks for your help..............................................!
