I’m thinking about being an automotive (electrician). Any advice? For some context I’ve been working on cars all my life, and I’m about to finish my second year of tech school. I’ve been working at my local shop that does a little bit of everything from brakes to complete harnesses. I’ve been installing wiring harnesses (body and motor) in ls swaps and a lot of diag work. I’ve fell in love with wiring and I’m looking for a little advice. Picture shown is a truck that was brought to me stock.

Release bearing fork issue
I’ve gone through hell and expenses trying to fix clutch in suzuki swift 2011 1.2. Had two new clutches fail due to release bearing. Big clutch disengagement issues whilst driving. I’ve taken to different garage and found the crack on the fork might be the reason.

They said they can either source a used gearbox and replace. Or get someone to weld the fork but can’t make promises…The fork on this car is integrated into box and can’t be replaced. Any suggestions what i should do? i’ve spent upwards of 1k at this point and the car has 113k miles for context but has been looked altered over the years. i’m pretty desperate for some advice. Many thanks

How to handle pitting on engine block at water pump gasket on 5vz-fe?
I'm changing the water pump on my 2000 Toyota 4Runner with 5vz-fe engine (around 260K miles). After I cleaned up the block, I noticed there was quite a bit of pitting on the gasket seat surface.

The OEM gasket is a combination of metal and rubber. Should I put a thin coat of sealant on the block before installing the gasket, or just trust the gasket to do its job?

TIA!

Lower control arm will not line up with steering knuckle. Amy tips?
2015 Audi A4. I'm replacing the steering knuckle and I can't get the forward lower arm to even reach the hole. I'm probably missing something. Does anyone have any advice or tips? I've moved the knuckle all around and no position works. I have not touched the strut or main lower control arm.

Happy Sunday
Subaru WRX. Tires aren’t great anyway. This kindly nail lodged itself at a wonderful angle about 1” in from the sidewall. So I plugged it and am online shopping for a new set. I’d be pi**ed if the tires had more tread. I planned to get tires in the spring. Life said “Nah. This week”.

How bad is this?
2016 Dodge Grand Caravan SE

We've had the thermostat replaced twice recently by a mechanic. This weekend steam was coming from the thermostat area, the resevoir was empty, the radiator cap was cool. I didn't ask a mechanic I just went ahead with replacing the thermostat again myself. I take the old one out, I put the new one in. I opened the bleed screw a little and poured coolant in at the radiator cap till it just barely started coming out of the screw (took more than I expected). Closed the screw. Then I realized a lot of coolant was pouring out below the thermostat. I took the new one off. I inspected it carefully and could detect no problems. I did my best to visually inspect where it attached to the engine and saw no problems. I felt all over the place where it connects and couldn't detect anything (though I admit I know nothing). Working assumption: I hadn't fully tightened the lower screw. I reinstall the new one and tighten the screws. First hint of a problem was the snapping of the plastic around the lower screw. So I stopped and began to take it out for the second time and that is when the screws and the threading came all the way out. See pictures. Turns out I snapped the plastic on the upper screw too though I couldn't tell. I am shocked! I was using hand tools, no power tools at all! How is it possible I did this? But then moving on, how bad is this to get fixed? Thanks.
