Reinvention can begin with the decision to see more for yourself. For Belva Angeline Githa, what started in Indonesia through pageantry has steadily opened into something bigger, from editorial fashion and an earlier Harper’s Bazaar cover to Los Angeles, New York and a growing presence on the international stage.
As FML’s inaugural International Cover star, Belva represents the optimism at the heart of Issue III: that where you begin never has to determine how far you can go. With her New York Fashion Week chapter now unfolding, Belva is allowing every new experience to expand the possibilities of what comes next.

Fashion has always had a way of catching someone in transition, at the moment when the world they were first known for begins to make room for something new. For Belva Angeline Githa, that moment is happening now. Her story in Issue III isn’t about arriving fully formed, but about the excitement of becoming.
As Belva steps further into fashion, The Reinvention Issue captures her at the beginning of that shift, with new cities, new runways and a new audience ahead. Reinvention doesn’t always mean leaving an old identity behind. Sometimes, it’s realizing that what introduced you to the world was only the beginning.

For Issue III: The Reinvention Issue, FML introduces its first-ever International Cover with Belva Angeline Githa. Hailing from Indonesia, Belva steps into a new fashion chapter in Los Angeles, photographed in Diana Couture before heading east for her New York Fashion Week debut. The result is a quintessential California fashion fantasy, seen through an Indonesian lens.

Following her Harper’s Bazaar cover earlier this year, Belva continues her transition from pageantry into fashion, arriving in New York as FML’s inaugural International Cover star before taking the runway for Kenneth Barlis at Gotham Hall. From Indonesia to Los Angeles to New York, this is less about becoming someone new and more about discovering how much further you can go.

“I think authenticity is what makes someone truly stylish. That combined with the confidence that you can pull anything off.”

For FML Issue III: The Reinvention Issue, Lifestyle Cover star Eden Masliah (eden masliah) speaks to a kind of style that goes beyond what she wears. Fashion, interiors, travel and beauty have all become extensions of the same creative instinct, one rooted in confidence, curiosity and the freedom to constantly evolve. “I hope you feel confidence to wear what you want and make choices others may doubt,” she tells FML of the world she is building around her.

That freedom takes a more surreal form in the cover editorial, where fashion is pushed through beauty and transformation. Hair Artist Emmett Palmer (🦝Hi im Emmett🦝) created the incredible custom wig artistry for the story, including a graphic look inspired by Burberry’s iconic check, turning a familiar fashion code into hair and making beauty an integral part of the styling itself.

For Issue III: The Reinvention Issue, FML introduces Eden Masliah as our Lifestyle Cover star. At 21, the Montreal-born creator has already made New York entirely her own, turning an instinctive move to the city at 17 into a life built across fashion, beauty, travel, interiors and personal style. “I’ve always prided myself on trusting my instincts, so when I felt that New York was a place I was called to, it was decided.”

For FML, Eden steps into the role of the quintessential New York girl on the go, photographed against the city that has shaped both her style and independence. From fashion student to full-time creator and now downtown Manhattan homeowner, her story is less about becoming someone new than having the confidence to keep expanding who she already is. As she puts it, “Authenticity is what makes someone truly stylish.” Read the full cover story on the link in bio.

Crystal Waters built her career by trusting herself enough to take the chance. “I think I’m proud of the fact that I actually took the chance,” Waters tells FML. “I was a shy little girl who could have easily worked at a mundane job for the rest of my life, but something inside of me said go for it and I’m very happy I did.”

That decision became a career spanning 35 years, 12 Billboard Dance Chart No. 1 records, six ASCAP Songwriter Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and hundreds of millions of streams. But the numbers only tell part of the story. Today, the Mother of House Music continues to expand her world as an artist, curator, founder and executive producer, turning decades of experience into new ideas and new platforms.

For FML Issue III: The Reinvention Issue, our Music Cover gets personal with Crystal Waters about the choices behind her career, the evolution of house music, finding new purpose in everything she has built and the projects still ahead. “There’s so much more on the horizon for me,” she tells FML. Across 35 years, Crystal Waters has built the kind of catalog that speaks in numbers as much as it does in influence. With 12 Billboard Dance Chart No. 1 records, six ASCAP Songwriter Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and more than 500 million streams, the Mother of House Music remains one of dance music’s most enduring voices. “Gypsy Woman (She’s Homeless),” “100% Pure Love” and “Destination Calabria” have traveled far beyond their original eras, continuing to find new audiences and new dance floors.

But Waters has never treated longevity as a reason to stand still. “To me, reinvention means expansion and growth,” she tells FML. That expansion now reaches across new music, I AM HOUSE Radio, I AM HOUSE Orchestrated and her work behind the scenes, extending her influence from the records themselves to the larger culture and community of house music.

For FML Issue III: The Reinvention Issue, our Music Cover looks beyond the milestones and into the woman behind them, from the chance she took on herself at the beginning of her career to the freedom, purpose and ambition driving her today. Read more on link in bio.

FML MAGAZINE: ISSUE III

THE REINVENTION ISSUE

The Music Cover: Crystal Waters

For our Music Cover, FML celebrates Crystal Waters, the Mother of House Music and an artist who represents reinvention in its truest form. She is both a classic and a reference point, one of the defining voices of house music whose work helped establish a language that generations of artists continue to draw from. More than three decades later, Waters is not simply part of the genre’s history. She remains an active force in shaping what comes next.

“To me, reinvention means expansion and growth,” Waters tells FML. “You can find yourself in a rut doing the same thing over and over. It’s always good to try something new.” That philosophy has carried her far beyond the records that made her an icon. Through new music, I AM HOUSE Radio, I AM HOUSE Orchestrated and her growing role behind the scenes, Waters is turning an extraordinary legacy into a platform for the culture, its pioneers and its future.

Crystal Waters does not need to leave her past behind to reinvent herself. Instead, she is finding a greater purpose for everything she has built. The records that changed dance floors around the world remain part of her story, but they were never meant to be its ending. More than three decades later, the Mother of House is still evolving, creating and, ensuring that the house she helped build has room for the generations coming next. Asher Levine’s fashion has always existed in contrast: polished and distressed, geometric and organic, futuristic yet deeply rooted in the body. For Spring/Summer 2027, those tensions take on a softer form. Draped jerseys, relaxed cargos, softened leathers and unstructured layers sit alongside anatomical references to veins, muscles and internal structures, bringing Levine’s long-standing fascination with the human form into a wardrobe designed to be lived in. “We’re always driving for perfection, yet somehow we love the beauty of the imperfect,” Levine tells FML. “I love that dichotomy, polished and grunge, geometric and organic.”
