RYAN REYES NAGRETIRO NA DIN SA PBA AYON KAY COACH JOLAS LASTIMOSA!

Guard Ryan Reyes called it a career by the end of the league’s Season 49 for TNT.

Tropang 5G team manager Jojo Lastimosa confirmed the retirement of the 42-year-old Reyes, who was plagued by injuries during his final season with the telecommunication franchise.

The No.3 overall pick in the 2007 draft by Sta. Lucia, Reyes was a four-time member of the All-Defensive team and adjudged Rookie of the Year in 2008.

The Fil-Am guard from Los Angeles won a total of eight championships – one with the Realtors and the rest with TNT, where he spent 15 of his 17 seasons in the league.

Reyes was also the recipient of the Samboy Lim Sportsmanship Award and a three-time All-Star.

He has career averages of 6.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.2 steals in 611 games played.

Why did Chris Tiu retire early from the PBA?

Chris Tiu retired early from the PBA in January 2019 after just six seasons with the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters. While he was still playing at a high level, Tiu cited personal reasons for his decision, including a desire to focus on other pursuits outside of basketball such as business, public service, and spending more time with his family. He also mentioned wanting to leave the game while still healthy and capable.

Tiu had always been more than just a basketball player he was a TV host, entrepreneur, and advocate for education and civic causes. His early retirement was a personal choice aligned with his long-term goals beyond sports. Many fans respected his decision, seeing it as a graceful exit by someone who had already achieved a lot both on and off the court.
