Allow me to preface this by saying we live in South Alabama in the US...my mom suffered a "mild" heart attack on Mother's Day morning and was rushed to Hospital in an ambulance. She stayed for 6 days and received 2 heart caths with one stent applied. She just received her main bill in the mail from the Hospital and this was the total. She had several "smaller" bills, including the $1800 ambulance ride(the ride was 20 miles from her house to hospital), which totaled approximately $4000 extra. She has great insurance but the premium every month comes to around $500 and her out-of-pocket expense is 20% as her insurance covers the other 80%. I'm terrible at math but I've figured up her daily expense at the hospital, not including the extra bills, was about $43,967.57. She received a total of 8 extra strength Tylenol that I can't imagine what they must have charged for. She can't have too many pain relievers as she has limited kidney function. She's a stage 4 cancer survivor and I am blessed that she is still with us. Thank goodness she called the ambulance when she did but goodness at the cost! She is worth every dime though! If my math is off, please correct me as I have Dyscalculia. I don't know if this would be considered Dull enough but Math is always dull to me!😅
