You're an 19 year old kid. You're critically wounded, and dying in the jungle in the Ia Drang Valley, 11-14-1965, LZ X-ray, Vietnam. Your infantry unit is outnumbered 8 - 1, and the enemy fire is so intense, from 100 or 200 yards away, that your own Infantry Commander has ordered the MediVac helicopters to stop coming in.
You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns, and you know you're not getting out. Your family is 1/2 way around the world, 12,000 miles away, and you'll never see them again. As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.
Then, over the machine gun noise, you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter, and you look up to see an un-armed Huey, but it doesn't seem real, because no Medi-Vac markings are on it.
Ed Freeman is coming for you. He's not Medi-Vac, so it's not his job, but he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire, after the Medi-Vacs were ordered not to come.
He's coming anyway.
And he drops it in, and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 2 or 3 of you on board.
Then he flies you up and out through the gunfire, to the Doctors and Nurses.
And, he kept coming back ... 13 more times.
And took about 30 of you and your buddies out, who would never have gotten out.
Medal of Honor Recipient, Ed Freeman, died 16 years ago at the age of 80, in Boise, Idaho. May God rest his soul. How come we didn't hear anything about this hero's passing?

"I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read. Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought.
Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation.
'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me. 'Petawawa. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Afghanistan.'
After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached the east, and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time...
As I reached for my wallet, I overheard a soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to base.'
His friend agreed.
I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'
Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?'
'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class.
'This is your thanks..'
After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars.
Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, b

My mum is bloody amazing and she is 80 yo. Around 6.30pm yesty arv she heard her new lil dog screaming. She went out to see what was going on? The carpet snake in the picture with her was coiled completely around her pup and had bitten the pup under the chin. Mum got bitten three times getting the snake off her pup. Mum then went next door and caught the snake so it could be taken out bush and hopefully not make its way back to her place. After a trip to the vets she got home around 9.30pm last night.

As I’m heading to work this morning I see Tina (lady who makes my pizzas @ Pie Five) walking down Keller parkway. I pull over and ask if I can give her a ride.
She smiles like always and gets in the car…. mind you Pie Five is about 2 miles away from where I picked her up… so we got talking as we drove.
She expressed to me she started that job 7 months ago and walks 4 miles every day for work.
I said to her… Wow, I know that’s hard on your body; that’s got to be exhausting. She giggled and said “Yah, but what can you do Greg? I need the job… life doesn’t stop. So I make it work. I used to have a bike, but it broke and don’t have another one”.
I dropped her off and said I’ll see you soon! I called Bianca Ballog immediately… pretty choked up about it… told her the story and she said “Greg, we are getting that lady a bike!” I told her…we are on the same page. 2 hours later she now has transportation. Her face when she saw the bike was more than words could express.
She said… I am so thankful and don’t know what to say. I told her… we may be getting this for you, but you have given more to me today than you know.
I can not express enough… GET TO KNOW PEOPLE! Ask questions, ask about their struggles, ask what you can pray for. God has called us to serve and love your neighbor as you love yourself.
If people truly truly truly truly understood that and did that a lot of the crap that is going on in this world wouldn’t be going on. There are people in need and they are in your own back yard. All you have to do is step out “Your Circle” ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

This man, Robert Peters, has been working at a Pizza Hut in Indiana as a delivery driver for over 30 years.
When he started experiencing car trouble, his community stepped in to help.
One of his regular customers, Tanner Langley, started a GoFundMe page for Peters with a goal of $12,000.
In just a few days, Tanner raised over $18,000 and surprised Robert with a 2017 Chevy Malibu!
"He makes that impact on everybody and he's a very kindhearted individual. He couldn't express how appreciative he was to the community for what they had done,” said Langley.
What a heartwarming story!

On a chilly California afternoon, Deputies Anderson and Arbuckle, with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, pulled into a Denny’s restaurant for lunch. They noticed a young woman sitting all by herself in the parking lot, and she seemed distraught. And it looked like she had a really bright-colored polka dot suitcase that apparently carried everything she owned.
Deputy Anderson knew something was wrong, so he approached her and politely asked her some questions. The young woman was all by herself… stranded, with no transportation. So the officers invited her into the restaurant with them and asked her to join them for a meal, which they paid for out of their own pocket.
But something kept nagging at Deputy Anderson. He wondered how she was gonna get back home. After the meal, the deputies had her follow them out to their squad car, and they drove her to the nearest Greyhound bus station. Deputy Anderson then bought her a bus ticket so she could get back home.
The officers’ story about the young woman touched everyone in the department, and it was posted on their website. On the story, it said their “actions demonstrate adherence to the Mission, Vision, and Values of our Department, most notably a concern for the community and treating the woman with empathy and respect when she was in a bad situation.”

Our 14-year-old dog Abbey died last month. The day after she passed away my 4-year-old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so, and she dictated these words:
Dear God,
Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick.
I hope you will play with her. She likes to swim and play with balls. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her you will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.
Love, Meredith
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letterbox at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies.' Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page were the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith,
Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help and I recognized her right away.
Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep your picture in so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.
Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and

"This homeless man just walked into Roosters, sat down and ordered a Coke. The waitress asked if he wanted anything to eat, and he said 'sorry I have money for only a coke and a dollar tip for you.' Before the waitress could jump in and offer him food on her, a little boy from a nearby table came and sat down. He talked to the old guy, asked him how he was. Then grabbed the menu and said 'I have money. So pick something to eat and I will buy it for you.' The man refused cause he didn't want to seem helpless. That's when the server jumped in and also said 'sir I will buy you anything you want as well.' They both pleaded to the man for 5 minutes before he agreed to get a small order of wings. The point? America that we know and love isn't dead. There is still positiveness and kindness in this world."
