After visiting Island Records in New York City looking for a record deal for their band "White Lightning" with Donald's brother Ralph Kinsey on drums and the bass player from Albert King's band.... after Donald had returned from touring with Albert King... anyway they were in New York City together looking for the record deal and they went into Island Records where Donald first discovered Bob's music.. sometime later the phone rang in Gary Indiana and Big Daddy Kinsey answered the line it was Bob Marley calling from Jamaica looking for Donald to join the band and bring the rhythm and blues sound with him to blend with the Wailers music... When Donald arrived in the studio in Miami he was warming up and just riffing on the guitar getting comfortable and he let the sound men know okay I'm ready and they said we've got it it's already perfect... And just like that history was made I don't know what part of the world you can go to where they don't know the riff that Donald played when Bob sang "play I some music... Play I of the R&B" Roots rock reggae forever my brother blessings.. big up brother Donald miss you dearly
