TRAFFIC ALERT: WRPD is investigating a multi-vehicle crash along Highway 58 between McIntyre St. and I-70. There is one fatality to report, at this time. We have Highway 58 eastbound shut down near the scene and ask the public to avoid the general area as we investigate.

CANTON, Ohio, October 16, 2025 – Stark County Sheriff Eric Weisburn today announced that the Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with other members of the Stark County OVI Task Force, will conduct two sobriety checkpoints on Friday, October 17, 2025, in the city of Alliance.
Officers will conduct roadside checks of drivers for alcohol and drug impairment and will be vigilant in detecting and apprehending impaired drivers.
Remember: Impaired driving is never acceptable. Always make the responsible choice to plan ahead for a safe, sober ride home.

🚨 Sobriety Checkpoint Alert – Beverly Hills 🚨

The Beverly Hills Police Department Traffic Bureau has announced a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint scheduled for Friday, October 24, between 8:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.

📍 Location: North Santa Monica Blvd & Crescent Drive
🚓 All vehicles will be screened by uniformed officers to check for impaired drivers and valid driver’s licenses.

The Riverside Police Department Holding A DUI Checkpoint October 3, 2025⁣

RIVERSIDE, CA – On October 3, 2025, the Riverside Police Department will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) checkpoint from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location within the city limits.⁣

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.⁣

Sergeant Dan Macias stated, “Driving under the influence endangers lives and puts every road user at risk. By conducting DUI checkpoints, we are working to deter impaired driving, remove unsafe drivers from the roadway, and protect the safety of our community.”⁣

The Riverside Police Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. While medicinal and recreational ma*****na are legal, driving under the influence of ma*****na is illegal.⁣

Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.⁣

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Highway Patrol Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program.

On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the San Luis Obispo Police Department held a DUI Checkpoint on the 500 block of Higuera in downtown San Luis Obispo between 8:00 pm and 1:00 am. Approximately 570 drivers were contacted with one being cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed or with a suspended/revoked license and one driver was arrested for suspected DUI.

DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Los Angeles Police Department is stepping up efforts to keep our roads safe! From Friday, Sept. 26 through Monday, Sept. 29, DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols will be conducted across the city to stop impaired driving and prevent accidents.
