Happy October everyone! Spooky season is officially here, and what better way to ring it in than with a collection of ghost pet stories (thank you to Patron Christine for suggesting!) On the tails of her animal sanctuary wedding, Eva has gathered us up a batch of tales of very good boi ghost dogs, and some haunted holographic kitties that nearly bring us to tears. And can someone tell us WHAT is up with ghosts being seen on walls?? …and that’s why we drink!

Ahhh!! It’s finally Episode 500!!

So grab your favorite milkshake, mocktail, or cocktail and join us for this momentous occasion before the dreaded “Your moment has ended” screen appears. Today, Em takes us to Oregon for the haunted Wolf Creek Inn, where we encounter a ghost army, an absolutely unreasonable amount of Jolly Ranchers, and, of course, some classic Z.B. shenanigans. Then Christine brings us some history on Old Timey Forensics, which includes missing body parts, ancient insect forensics, and touches on some cases we’ve covered over the years.

So thank you for coming along with us on this wild, weird, spooky, and surprisingly lemon-filled ride for all these years. We genuinely couldn’t have made it to 500 without you… and that’s why we drink!

Christine couldn’t be here this week, so Em is joined by our very own Jerry O’Connell, the lovely Bethany Watson! Today, Em brings us the Staten Island urban legend of Cropsey, with a little side venture into the deeply upsetting true crime of the Willowbrook State School. Then, in a completely unplanned bit of synchronicity, Bethany covers a true crime case with a paranormal twist: the mysterious disappearance of Jacobo Grinberg. It’s Episode 497 and we're sharing some big news in that Christine will be leaving the podcast at the end of October. While this is the very sad end of one era, we're ready to start another with Christine behind the scenes at ParaPods Network and Em behind the mic of ATWWD. We'll continue bringing the haunts year-round as we creep our way into a new, lovely, spooky chapter.

And meanwhile we've got some fun stories for you today: Em brings us the biography, not biology, of one of Christine’s favorite people, Chip Coffey, the man of many names. Then Christine takes Em back to Idaho with a story we touched on in our second book, A Haunted Road Atlas: Next Stop, The Boise Murder House, with its sentient oil ball. Calling all Virgos & September Libras! It’s officially September so we’re remixing it up today with guest host Xandy Schiefer while Em is away. Today Eva collected a batch of classic ghost stories for us which remind us that sometimes the black of night is better than whatever may be calling from the vents, and to not trust the feelings in the fog.
