✨ Rocamadour, France — where legends hang off cliffs and time forgets to move.
We wandered through the ancient stone pathways of Rocamadour Castle, a fortress built high above the canyon like it knew it would one day be the backdrop of a fantasy novel. 🏰✨
This medieval village has been a place of pilgrimage for nearly 1,000 years, drawing kings, knights, and travelers chasing miracles. The castle itself watches over the valley from a clifftop so dramatic it feels almost unreal — perched above layered chapels, secret passageways, and carved symbols said to protect the town.
Fun fact: Rocamadour’s name comes from “Roc Amator” — the rock of the “Lover” or “Amadour,” a mysterious hermit whose relics helped turn this place into one of Europe’s most famous holy sites. Whether you believe the legends or not… the energy here is next-level. ⚔️🌿
Between the rain, the stone walls, and the views that drop straight into a fairytale, it felt like stepping into another century.
And honestly? We didn’t mind getting a little soaked — kind of added to the medieval mood. 😉
