The common pull on the heart strings argument against cutting government or cutting taxes is to argue that you are “taking” something away from people.

I think the argument should be flipped around and ask why is the government taking so much from us for little to no return? How much would you benefit if you had more money in your account? A better ability to move into a nice home?

They frame it as taking away some government handout, I see it as taking away a person’s ability to live their life to the fullest.

Gavin Newsom says Trump’s DOJ is investigating him to kill his 2028 presidential campaign. The LA Times says the probe started under Biden.

Here’s what we actually know: federal agents have contacted family friends, former employees, and organizations tied to Newsom and his wife. A probe into Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s taxes is underway — confirmed by multiple outlets with independent sourcing. And Newsom’s former chief of staff pleaded guilty last month to bank fraud and lying to the FBI. That investigation also started under Biden.

Newsom may be right that Trump is weaponizing this. The underlying questions are still real regardless.

Turns out, it wasn’t Trump who started the federal investigation into Newsom. It was actually started under the Biden Administration.

What a twist to a crazy story.

Newsom tried to make all about President Trump going after enemies, when it reality it was someone from his own “team.”

Call me old fashioned, but you should probably put in SOME effort to get out and vote. Go find a polling location, stand in line, remember what you’re voting for and why.

Being handed a ballot and filling it out with no research leads to voters just voting party lines and here in California that usually means for more of the same.

In fact, now that I think about it, there may be more people who think more about their Door Dash order than who or what they actually vote for.

Last night was a big night for California Republicans, especially Steve Hilton and Spencer Pratt. They performed well and Congressional candidates up and down the state also out performed.

Now onto the general election. Buckle up.

California voters passed Prop 36 by 68% to crack down on repeat shoplifters. Sacramento’s response: AB 2108, a bill that requires prosecutors to screen defendants for diversion before charges are filed.

No charges. No conviction. No prior record. Prop 36 never triggers.

The mechanism voters just demanded, gutted in the dead of night.

The biggest problem with one party rule is that it means those in power never have to be held accountable. They get used to that security of skating on all their wrong doing.

This interview with Xavier Becerra is a perfect example of that. He wants to “make sure” they are conducting a puff piece, softball interview and not ask any tough questions that could make him look bad.

This is why it’s imperative we end one party rule here in California.
