Here’s what happened during Trump and Harris’s first presidential debate together:

The proceedings began with an awkward handshake but otherwise went ahead relatively smoothly, in part thanks to the candidates’ muted microphones, which reduced interruptions.
VP Kamala Harris entered the debate with more to gain, and she arguably capitalised on the moment.
Her composed performance saw her land several blows — particularly when it came to Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results, abortion rights and race.
Trump, meanwhile, repeatedly sought to turn the conversation to the economy and immigration, repeating false stories about migrants stealing and eating people’s pets.
The former president also said he would not sign a federal abortion ban and refused to admit he lost the 2020 vote.
The Harris campaign swiftly called for a second debate. It also collected an official endorsement from pop star Taylor Swift, who commands a whopping 283 million followers on Instagram.

Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump will meet face to face for the first time tonight in their only scheduled presidential debate, which will be held in Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center.
The debate, will be hosted by ABC News, follows a turbulent period in the 2024 presidential campaign in which President Joe Biden exited the presidential race in the wake of his catastrophic performance during the first presidential debate of the general election campaign. Things moved quickly as Biden endorsed his vice president to take his place and the Democratic Party quickly nominated her, leaving Trump with a new opponent ahead of the election. #2024

Prince Harry and Prince William both attended their uncle Lord Robert Fellowes’ funeral amid their rift. However, they reportedly avoided one another while there.
Harry, 39, and William, 42, went to the service at St. Mary’s Church in Snettisham, Norfolk, on Wednesday, Aug. 28, according to . Lord Fellowes, the brother in law of the princess late mother Princess Diana, died on July 29 of undisclosed causes. He was 82.
