Flintridge Retreat Center
236 W. Mountain Street, Pasadena, CA 91103
We are offering high school seniors a 1-day Digital Storytelling Workshop. The purpose of this workshop is to gather the stories of LGBTQ teens, hear their stories about implied or overt bullying and how they survive in high school. These stories may be used in a documentary proposal.
What is Digital Storytelling? Digital Storytelling is a community movement involving real people, their authentic stories, images and video. Digital Stories are being used in social networking websites, small group discussions and documentaries.
This workshop is free. Teens will learn how to produce a 1-3 minute digital story using video editing software and storytelling techniques.
We will help teens develop and record a first-person narratives, collect still images, use small video clips and music to illustrate their short story.
Registration is required. Prep materials are sent out prior to the workshop, including suggestions about narrative writing, image selection and use of video clips.
LIMITED TO 6 participants only.
