📌 9 Types of Nuts Used in Engineering – Explained with Simple Examples:

Nuts are essential fasteners used with bolts to hold components tightly. Here are some common types:

1. Fl**ge Nut:

This nut has a wide fl**ge at one end that acts like a built-in washer, spreading the load and preventing loosening. It saves time during assembly.

2. Hexagonal Nut:

The most common type, also known as a hex nut, has six sides for easy grip with tools. It's used in almost every mechanical and construction job.

3. Knurled Nut:

These nuts have a textured (knurled) surface, allowing hand-tightening without tools. They’re useful for electronic equipment and delicate assemblies.

4. Wing Nut:

Designed with two large “wings,” this nut can be easily tightened or loosened by hand. It's ideal for applications requiring frequent adjustments, like camera mounts or clamps.

5. Square Nut:

With four sides, this nut offers greater surface contact and grip but requires specific tools. It's used in furniture, old machines, and structural joints.

6. Thumb Nut:

Made for finger tightening, these are typically round with ridged edges. They’re used in applications like tripods, appliances, or panels.

7. Ring Nut:

Also known as round nuts, these are circular and can be tightened using special tools. They’re often used in shafts or spindles.

8. Capstan Nut:

This nut has holes around its cylindrical body. It's tightened using a bar or pin through the holes. It's mainly used in marine and heavy engineering applications.

9. Cap Nut:

Also known as an acorn nut, it covers the bolt end completely to protect it from corrosion and give a neat finish. They’re used in furniture, bikes, and outdoor structures.

AC Line Detector Circuit Explained
The image shows an AC line detector circuit that is used to detect the presence of an AC signal without direct contact. This circuit uses type 2N2222 transistors, an antenna, resistors, an LED indicator, and a buzzer (buzzer) to alert the user when there is an AC line nearby.
Main Components:
Antenna (coil): Detects the electromagnetic field produced by alternating current.
2N2222 Transistors (3 units): They work as signal amplifiers.
LED: Turns on when an alternating current line is detected.
Buzzer: It makes sound when AC is detected.
Resistance: Limit the flow that passes through sensitive components.
Power supply (indicated with + and "-" symbol): Feeds the entire circuit.
Functioning:
1. The antenna captures electromagnetic waves from a nearby AC line.
2. The captured signal is amplified by a series of NPN 2N2222 transistors connected in waterfall gain settings.
3. When the amplified signal is loud enough, it activates the LED and the buzzer, indicating the presence of alternating current.
4. Resistances ensure that the current does not damage components like LED.
This type of circuit is useful for electricians or amateurs who need to locate active AC wires without making direct contact.

Overview of various types of sensors commonly used in automotive applications. The sensors shown include:

1. Engine Speed Sensor - Measures the rotational speed of the engine.
2. Knock Sensor - Detects abnormal combustion events in the engine.
3. Air Flow Sensor - Measures the amount of air entering the engine.
4. Cam Sensor - Monitors the position of the camshaft.
5. Coolant Sensor - Measures the temperature of the engine coolant.
6. Temp Sensor - Measures the temperature of various components.
7. NOx Sensor - Measures the level of nitrogen oxides in the exhaust.
8. MAP Sensor - Measures the intake manifold air pressure.
9. Parking Sensor - Detects obstacles when parking the vehicle.
10. Vehicle Speed Sensor - Measures the speed of the vehicle.
11. Oxygen Sensor - Measures the oxygen content in the exhaust.
12. Throttle Sensor - Measures the position of the throttle.
13. Crank Sensor - Monitors the position and speed of the crankshaft.
14. Voltage Sensor - Measures the voltage in the electrical system.
15. Rain Sensor - Detects the presence of rain and activates the windshield wipers.

These sensors provide critical information to the vehicle's onboard computer, allowing it to optimize engine performance, emissions, and safety features.

🔌 Overview
The image shows a circuit designed to indicate the polarity of a continuous voltage (DC) using two light-emitting diodes (LED), four 1N4007 diodes and one resistance.
---
🔧 Main components: ✅ 4 diodes 1N4007
✅ 2 LEDs (Red & Green)
✅ 1 resistance
✅ Voltage Input Connectors (Red = Positive, black = Negative)
---
⚡ Function
1️⃣ Continuous tension (DC) is connected through red cables and black
2️⃣ All 4 1N4007 diodes are available in a rectifier bridge configuration.
3️⃣ The rectifier bridge outlet is connected to the LEDs (red and green) with the resistance to limit the current.
4️⃣ According to the polarity of the applied tension:
If polarity is correct (red positive, black negative), the red LED turns on.
If polarity is inverted ( black positive, red negative), the green LED turns on.
---
⚙️ Resistance Function: The resistance is connected in series to the LEDs to limit current and avoid damaging them.
---
🔍 Main objective: The purpose of this circuit is to visually show the polarity of a continuous voltage source. It is useful, for example, to check the polarity of a battery or power supply.

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 5 star review from Angel Tafoya: Great trolling motor!
Received the trolling motor after a lot of manufacturer delays but none of the fault on BLD. Once they received them in stock they shipped quick and I could not find a lower price even if I tried.
