“Don’t be afraid.” It was one of the last things that Hank Heaven said to me at their end of our first time hanging in the studio. I had already seen them opening for Samia in LA with their commanding musicianship, affective storytelling, and just deeply funny banter. But the thing that stuck with me about the show and then this meeting, was Hank’s effortless superpower: the ability to inspire whoever they are around. Sometimes with a joke and an easy smile, sometimes with a lyric that will bring you to tears. Their journey as a musician and as a human is one we couldn’t be prouder to be a part of. Welcome home, Hank! - Ricky Reed

James The Seventh is one of the most expressive artists and humans I’ve ever met. The first time we sat in the studio I heard unreleased demos of her stretching her voice to the furthest, most outer reaches of self-expression as she talked about her past in ballet and interest in contortion in dance. This desire to continue pushing, finding the edge, is what drew us at Nice Life to her. Her unapologetic voice, both literal and figurative, is so very much needed in the discourse of art as well as for anyone who just feels like a freak living outside the bounds of what’s considered “normal”. We are so proud to release her new EP, as produced by the inimitable genius Oren Yoel. Go King James!!! - Ricky Reed
