The cannabis community is buzzing with excitement about the 710 holiday every year.

But what exactly is 710, and why has it become so well-known among smokers?

710 (or July 10th) is a day for celebrating concentrates and oils in the cannabis industry. It’s an annual event that brings together dabbers, extractors, and concentrate fans and connoisseurs worldwide to celebrate their beloved products.

This holiday was born out of frustration with 420, which many felt had become too commercialized and mainstreamed. TaskRok of Highly Educated suggested an upside down anadrome for OIL – hence 710 – to differentiate between those who smoke regular flower marijuana and dabbers, extractors, and concentrate fanatics.

The celebration of 710 took off in the early 2010s when a famous LA Weekly article titled “710 is the new 420” was published on July 10th, 2013. This article shed light on the efforts of TaskRok and the guys from Healthstone and BeehiveOil, who had been pushing for a unique holiday to celebrate concentrates.

As more people began recognizing this day as an annual event celebrating cannabis oils, extracts, concentrates, and dabs, 710 quickly became commonplace in cannabis culture. To this day, it remains one of the most popular holidays among dab fans around the world.

A federal judge in Pennsylvania just ruled that state-legal cannabis patients can be denied the right to own firearms.

Why? Because federal law still sees them as "unlawful drug users."

Let that sink in.

It’s the latest example of how medical cannabis users—especially veterans and those with chronic illness—are stuck in a broken system. One that forces people to choose between legal treatment and their constitutional rights.

Meanwhile, alcohol—linked to 40% of violent crime—poses no barrier to gun ownership. But cannabis? The plant proven to reduce aggression? That’s where they draw the line?

We break down this ruling and what it means for the millions of Americans caught in the federal-state cannabis crossfire.

Time to change the law.

For years, cannabis operators followed the rules—got licensed, documented every gram, and paid their dues.

But officers like Joseph Huffaker and Brendan Tatum? They allegedly used badges to shake down drivers, steal pounds, and pocket the profits. One even got caught with an illegal grow... and only got fined.

This is why trust between law enforcement and the cannabis industry remains broken. This isn’t ancient history—this happened during legalization.

The trial now underway in San Francisco is about more than one corrupt cop. It’s a wake-up call about what’s still wrong with cannabis policing—and what has to change.

It’s a reminder of how deeply flawed cannabis law enforcement has become, and how some of the very officers who ha...

In this wide-ranging discussion, he breaks down exactly why marketers need to understand the financial realities of their business.

Big news out of Hawaii—and it's not just about sunshine and surf.

Governor Josh Green just signed HB 302 into law… after putting it on his veto list.

So what changed?

HB 302 expands access to medical cannabis by allowing providers to recommend it for any debilitating condition and permits telehealth certification. That’s huge for hospice care, rural patients, and chronic pain sufferers.

But it comes with a catch: the Department of Health can now inspect patient records—without a warrant.

While some call this a step forward, others say it threatens patient privacy and trust.

We break it all down in our latest Beard Bros Media report. Dive into the wins, the worries, and what this could mean for cannabis reform across the U.S.

Governor Josh Green stirred both surprise and speculation when he signed Hawaii’s HB 302 into law. The bill, initially on his veto list, represents a significant shift in how medical cannabis is prescribed and accessed in the state. While Green’s reversal came unexpectedly, the implications of t...

Before synthetic drugs and white coats, there was cannabis—and it was sacred.

From the temples of Tibet to the tombs of Egypt, from Ayurvedic texts in India to clay tablets in Mesopotamia, cultures across the globe turned to this plant as medicine, guide, and protector.

Then colonization hit. Knowledge was criminalized. Ceremony was outlawed. And cannabis? Vilified.

But here’s the thing—plant medicine never disappeared. Indigenous communities held the line. And now, we’re in the middle of a global revival.

This isn’t just about legalization or market trends. It’s about remembering who carried the torch through generations of suppression.

At Beard Bros, we don’t see cannabis as a commodity. We see it as a sacred responsibility.

Dig into the global roots of plant medicine in our latest article. 🌍🌱

Long before pharmacies and synthetic drugs dominated healthcare, healing started with the earth. Plant medicine wasn’t just a practice; it was a way of life. People have cherished cannabis, along with plant allies like ayahuasca and peyote, for centuries as medicinal tools and spiritual guides. It...

Why are cannabis users still being judged by a standard designed for booze?

Thousands of drivers are pulled over each year and subjected to THC “impairment” tests that have about the same accuracy as a coin flip. The problem? These tests were built by law enforcement—not scientists.

Unlike alcohol, THC doesn’t follow a one-size-fits-all timeline in the body. You can be stone-cold sober but still test positive. And that’s a big problem for consumers, patients, and advocates alike.

In our latest article, we dig into the science (or lack thereof), the injustice, and what needs to happen to build testing policies that actually make sense.

It’s time for laws rooted in reality—not fear.
