NEW MUSIC: Not The Author show some serious bite on “Cause and Effect.” The Sudbury post-hardcore outfit packs their latest single with massive dual guitars, melodic hooks, and a nasty dose of aggression at the finish, setting the stage for their upcoming EP. Words by Charlie Bodhi!

SHOW REVIEW: Not all of us were born to be cool, but thankfully Kim and Kelley Deal were. The Breeders took over a sold-out Hollywood Palladium for nearly two hours of new music, nostalgic favorites, and a reminder that ’90s alt-rock still kicks ass. Words and photos by Kat Manos!
