Still feeling incredibly grateful and honored to be part of a dream team collaboration with & on ‘Tom Rinaldi Presents: Sacred Acre’. Our second season together was a humbling experience—telling the powerful story of Coach Ed Thomas and his lasting impact.

Bringing home two awards in June was a meaningful result of the trust and teamwork behind this project. We always aim to exceed expectations and are proud when our collective efforts deliver for our clients.

Last night at the Hashtag Sports Awards we were honored with a win for our work on the FOX Sports documentary podcast series 'Tom Rinaldi Presents: Sacred Acre'. PorterHouse Media's Steve Porter and writer David Sabino were there to represent and receive. This was a full team effort lead by the storytelling maestro Tom Rinaldi with Gabe Goodwin and the Blue Duck Media crew, Scott Turken, and the Thomas family. This is the second award this month for this gripping series telling the impactful story of Coach Ed Thomas. We are beyond humbled and thankful to all those involved!

It's an honor for PorterHouse Media to be part of a dedicated and talented team responsible for winning a 2025 Cynopsis Sports Media Award. Through the show 'Tom Rinaldi Presents: Sacred Acre', our own Steve Porter alongside Blue Duck Media, FOX Sports and journalist Tom Rinaldi, were able to illuminate the impactful story of legendary Coach Ed Thomas. In the final episode of 'Sacred Acre,' we return to Parkersburg to see how Ed Thomas is still impacting the town and the football program. A new interim head coach carries on the traditions, including an inspirational pregame speech.

Earlier in 2024, another school shooting in the state, this time in Perry. The circumstances, and the victims, hit close to home with the Thomas family. Those closest to Ed Thomas reflect on his enduring legacy and the lessons learned from the tragedy of his murder.

“One of the hopes is that listeners find this to be an immersive experience,” Rinaldi explained, “that their imaginations are engaged and sparked by the great work of our sound designer Steve Porter, and by mixing the various audio assets that create a theater-like engagement for a listener, those being the narration, the original interviews, the archival sound, the score, the sound effects – the blend of those things to create what can feel like a more theater-like experience for a viewer.”

We are very grateful for some high praise by Emmy-winning FOX Sports reporter Tom Rinaldi speaking on the sound design work by PorterHouse Media's Steve Porter in our newly launched Podcast Series. In this Sports Illustrated interview Tom calls out Steve as a integral part of the auditory experience; “Obviously, the biggest difference here is that there are no pictures to rely upon. And so without that, Steve Porter, who is a phenomenal sound designer, who is really at the absolute center of a project of this scope, is so gifted and we’re so lucky to have him.”
