After a long hiatus, Filipino rapper Abra is set to make a highly anticipated comeback with a brand new track, βKontrol,β dropping on January 25, 2025. The announcement came via social media, where Abra teased the release with a black-and-white image and a cryptic caption, hinting at the songβs availability on streaming platforms and an accompanying music video. The track is said to be in collaboration with DJ Medmessiah of Morobeats.
This marks Abraβs first musical release since his 2018 extended-play Hendrix. Over the years, the rap icon has remained a key figure in the Philippine hip-hop scene, from his breakout as a battle emcee in FlipTop to mainstream success with his hit single "Gayuma," which has garnered over 87 million views on YouTube. Recently, Abra wrapped up his ARAL 2024 US Tour, visiting major cities across the U.S. alongside fellow rappers Ron Honley, Apekz, and Loonie.
