Welding on threads…

I weld for a pressure hose shop, but occasionally get something odd. Sales guy put in an order for an inlet system, threaded hand tight then welded. He said he didn’t want it tested, just get it in the right orientation and weld it…

My initial reaction was that welding on threads is a no, especially under pressure (100psi working load). Am I wrong on this? I’ve covered my ass, so I’ll do it for them but are there any specific concerns I should raise?

Vertical stick welding, 3/32 rod 87 amps

I feel like if I go higher in amperage, I get more splatter

Am I just moving too fast? Or is it my weave pattern?

Previously, I felt like my world had too much height to them, so somebody recommended that as I moved the rod, I pull back the arch a little bit.

What is causing this “growth” that forms on a tack weld AFTER I let off the trigger. Like I am done with the weld and I watch this metal grow out of the puddle as it cools. Never seen this before.the machine is a new to us millermatic 255 and the first time anyone here has messed with touch screens and auto set. Gas is 75/25. Any insight is appreciated.
