It’s actually our first time having breakfast at Erewhon and we are loving this space in the morning.

I’ve been thinking more about how the choices I make every day affect the way I feel—not just my energy, but my focus, mood, and long-term health. With so much uncertainty around ingredients, food sourcing, and what we’re actually bringing into our homes, I’ve become better about choosing quality when I can.

LA Grocery & Cafe makes that feel approachable, offering thoughtfully sourced foods and fresh prepared options. We stopped in for breakfast, browsed the market, and picked up a few things to take home.

A reminder that wellness isn’t about being perfect as burgers and fries, tacos with queso, breakfast burritos with tots, and wings with ranch are such a weakness for me. 😂 It’s about paying closer attention and making choices that support the body, the mind, over time. And of course, Niko joined us since the space is dog-friendly.

Every visit here feels like a little escape from the everyday 🤍

From the cozy atmosphere and pastry-filled cases to the cinnamon bun latte, every detail makes you want to slow down and stay awhile.
Rich, creamy, sweet, and perfectly smooth, the latte was such a treat—especially enjoyed in a real cup instead of my usual to-go order.

The rear patio is still my favorite spot, tucked beneath the trees with plenty of cool, shady corners and rustic wooden chairs that give it the feeling of a relaxed beach house.

A beautifully curated place to enjoy a good coffee and spend a few quiet minutes—or a few hours.

Alcove Cafe & Bakery ☕🐾

Every time I visit Alcove Cafe & Bakery in Los Angeles, it feels like stepping into a little pause from the rest of the day. Between the cozy atmosphere, fully stocked cake and pastry cases, and their cinnamon bun latte, it’s such a refreshing escape.

The cinnamon bun latte was rich, creamy, sweet, and bold, with an incredibly smooth finish. I especially loved enjoying it in a real cup since I’m usually grabbing coffee on the go.

The rear patio is my favorite spot, with rustic wooden chairs that make me feel like I’m relaxing at a beach house. And if you’re already planning for Halloween, the decorated cookies are already in the case! 🎃

Another beautifully curated spot to bring your dog and enjoy for a few minutes—or a few hours.

Been on a project in West Hollywood for a while, and I keep passing this spot. I see their ads for those wild, colorful lemonades all the time and noticed how packed it always is. I also knew it was tied to Nipsey Hussle, so I finally had to see what the deal was.

For those who don't know, Nipsey Hussle was a massive LA rapper and entrepreneur who was huge on community. He built this whole "Marathon" brand, and this restaurant is his family carrying on his vision. It’s cool to see them bringing those ideas to life.

Anyway, I grabbed the Jr. burger combo, some mild wings, and that blue lemonade. The color was wild—it felt tropical and fun, almost like I was drinking something from another planet.
The burger was solid, but the wings and onion rings? They were both super crunchy, and that ranch for dipping was delicious. The fries were well-seasoned, though they got a bit limp by the time I got to them. If you stop by, you've gotta get the wings and onion rings—they're a total hit.

I was out on a job site and by the time I finally had a second to step away, I was desperate for some coffee. I headed over to Olive & James on Melrose, just looking for my usual caffeine fix—but I got a surprise when I walked in.
Tucked right inside was Frankie Greek Yogurt. I had no idea it was even there! I figured, why not change things up? It was actually pretty fun to build my own bowl with all these real ingredients. I was originally going to hit that burger spot on the next block, but I’m glad I made the healthier choice and stuck with the yogurt instead.
If you’re ever around, it’s a cool little pop up to check out. They’re only there on the weekends—Friday through Sunday, from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM—so it’s a nice spot to swing by if you’re in the neighborhood.

Fall is approaching but it’s still summering in LA so living in until further notice. 🌞
