to Wednesday, September 17, 2025 – Good morning, everyone. I was waiting to be called in for my 6-month follow-up colonoscopy. During my first procedure, doctors found a colon polyp and stomach bacteria, so this follow-up was an important step in my health journey. Taking care of our health is the best investment we can make. 💙

Coffee chats, beach walks, inside jokes. Our HIVE community shows what thriving with HIV can look like at 50 and beyond.

HIVE (HIV-Elders) is APLA Health’s community program for people 50+ living with HIV. It offers peer-led groups, life skills support, health education, and gatherings that build connection and purpose.

U=U means that with treatment and an undetectable viral load, people do not sexually transmit HIV. With consistent care and access to medication, many people with HIV live long, healthy, fulfilling lives. PrEP works alongside treatment to help prevent new infections. That’s real progress - if people can access it.

Funding cuts are putting that access at risk. With less than 30 days until AIDS Walk LA, this is our moment to show up. Every step and every dollar you raise helps APLA Health keep HIV prevention and support programs like HIVE available.
