Salute to the legends Darker My Love: Rob Barbato, WIll Canzoneri, Jared Everett, Andy Granelli and Tim Pressley. 19 years ago this summer they launched a furiously inventive 3-LP run that wrapped with the astonishingly good Alive As You Are in 2010 (a handful of these left in our store, scoop em up!). DML threaded the rock revivalist needle with a deftness that made them standouts of this classic Silver Lake era.

The band scattered in 2011 but not before joining the first cohort of Americans to tour as The Fall with Mark E Smith. Rob Barbato is a respected producer and creative director, Tim Pressley’s solo work includes a seminal 2012 collab w-Ty Segall and you can catch him with White Fence playing shows this fall. Basically everyone went on to do cool things and no one was even a little surprised. Cheers to 20 years of Dangerbird and cheers to Darker My Love 🖤

For his debut solo album T. Hardy Morris shot a series of videos highlighting endangered historic sites in Georgia with director Jason Thrasher. This one shot at Howard Finster’s magical Paradise Garden is one of our favorites, and the whole series is a great example of the power of music.
