Karmelo Anthony SEEN for the FIRST time since his arrest in a family photo as he receives a visit in prison.
As a reminder, 19-year-old Karmelo is serving a 35 year prison sentence for the fatal stabbing of teen Austin Metcalf at a Texas track meet.
Drew Anthony, Karmeloās father, posted the family photo along with this message:
āGod makes no mistakes. As Karmeloās mother and father, there are moments when we donāt have the words to explain everything our family has been feeling.
There are days when we are strong, and there are days when all we can do is pray, hold onto each other, and ask God to give us enough strength to make it through another day.
But through all of it, one thing has not changed: our faith.
We still believe God is in control. We still believe He has a purpose. And even when we donāt understand what He is doing, we trust that God makes no mistakes.
Our family is holding on as much as we can.
To every person who has prayed for our son, your nephew, prayed for our family, called us, checked on us, encouraged us, donated, shared our story, stood beside us through the LIES and HALF-TRUTHS, or simply whispered Karmeloās name in prayer THANK YOU.
You may never fully understand how much your love and support have meant to us during some of the hardest moments of our lives.
Before everything else before the headlines, before the opinions, before the courtrooms, and before social media he is our child.
And no matter what this journey brings, as his mother and father, we will never stop loving him, praying for him, fighting for him, and reminding him that he is not alone.
We are tired, but we are still standing.
We have cried, but we are still praying.
We have been hurt, but we are still believing.
And when we feel like we have nothing else left to hold onto, we hold onto God.
Thank you for continuing to love and support our family.
Please keep Karmelo in your prayers.
Please keep our children in your prayers.
Please keep our entire family in your prayers.
God makes no mistakes.
And we believe with all of our hearts that He is not finished with Karmelo, and He is not finished with our familyās story.
A LIE IS TEMPORARY BUT THE TRUTH LAST FOREVER
AMEN
