Is this bad work or are my expectations too high? I posted this in the bathroom remodeling sub before I knew there’s a tile group. I got some feedback there but thought bringing this to the experts might be a good idea.

Editing to add: the tilers who set this were hired by a subcontractor who was hired by ServPro. They are also supposed to set floor tile as part of a repair covered by insurance. The wall tile is something I added on and am paying for myself. I’m concerned about how the floor might turn out given the work they did on the wall.

My bathroom is being remodeled and I’m putting subway tile on part of a wall. The spacing looks very uneven and inconsistent to me. Looking at the vertical spaces, some are very tight and some are wide, and some are wide on the top and tight on the bottom (and vice versa).

This is my first experience with tile of any kind so I don’t know if there’s a margin of error that’s to be expected and I’m just being picky or if this is really outside reasonable standards for paid work.

Bathroom floor cracking. small bathroom had cracked tile and grout. planned to install new tile. I assumed they didn't use durock and the subfloor wasnt sufficient. turns out they did use durock but didn't use thinset underneath. I got most of it all removed. the plywood seems flimsy, not sure hiw thick it is. should I install thicker sheets of plywood over the existing or remove it all, put thicker plywood thej thinset the durock.

Selecting the Correct transition. So I am nearing the end of my tile bathroom journey and the whole time I’ve been putting off how to select the right transition for a tile to carpet edge. As you can see, I’ve been going the schluter direction but I don’t understand how to know what type to pick. And what to avoid and how to install correctly. (In what order, do I need to pull up some of the carpet?) any help would be welcome.

Tile work completed? I’m in the process of bathroom remodel and we’re at almost final stage of payment. Tiles and drywall are the last pieces of work that need to be done. Contractor says the tile work is done is that correct? And that the gap here is a drywall issue. Should we pay the tile portion or withhold until the gap is fixed?

What was the next step? So I've been called in to "finish" this tile job that was abandoned. It's an old house with plaster so I appreciate the effort with the board, but there's tapcons with heads sticking out like a ¼". I'm just trying to understand what their next steps would have been. Like, I guess the thoughts would be the thinset would be the depth of these heads but that seems like a terrible idea. Just curious before I give them the bad news we're starting from scratch. I may have to post the prepped shower next that's the same issue but at least waterproofed. Have a great and profitable week everyone!

Roast my husbands tile job. My husband is super critical of his work, and this particular project I think he did an amazing job at.

The homes only bathroom needed a complete overhaul in order for us to move in (as well as a few other things).

His first time ever tiling a shower, in the dead of winter in a house that did not have heat or power for that matter, with a very limited budget

Can I get everyone's honest opinion on his tile job?

please ignore the mess as we are living here, Im not asking for opinions on my cleaning only on his tile/shower instal mainly to prove he did a kickass job and get him to stop being so critical of his work

Contractor can't measure? I'm crashing out over a floor repair and refinish. All gaps pictured along the wall's edge are replaced boards. No other gaps in the floor, only what the contractor replaced. He's insisting shoe moulding will cover. Is this normal? Maybe this is totally normal and I just think it isn't because I can see the sausage being made? I'm livid, especially for the price.

Repair cost? listen if all you wanna do is bash. Please keep moving. I’m doing this alone my wife’s in the hospital with complications from pregnancy and I have my 4 year old alone. I’m not looking for pity but I don’t want a bash session either.

How much would you charge to feather in and match this tongue and groove flooring? I’m trying to do it myself and boy is it a pain.
