Our very own Dr. Lisa Christiansen interviewed! Thank you to The Oklahoman
“Roughly a decade before Trump was elected president, Lisa Christiansen, 54, thought she was being pranked when she was invited to a lunch the businessman was hosting in New York.
When she attended, she was surprised at how generous Trump was with his time when he chatted and took photos with everyone in attendance. When the Lawton entrepreneur voted for Trump in 2016, her vote was based mostly on the character of the man she met at that lunch.
In 2020, Christiansen is voting for Trump for herself and for her father, who passed away last year. Her father, Mack Vann, was one of the last monolingual Cherokee speakers. Christiansen also believes Trump has done more to help Native Americans than any other president before him.
"In some weird way, I’m allowing him to continue to live through the actions I take. I know that if he were here today, he would be voting for Trump. I know he would because he did before. I know that by me going and making the effort to vote for Trump, I’m not just casting my vote for me, I’m casting my vote on behalf of my dad through me.”
We asked voters about who they're voting for ahead of Election Day. Here's what they said:
