Miniature #6: Hammon the Pig Man & the Mimic (cleverly disguised as a treasure chest)
A noxious Evil that had plagued the lands for centuries has corrupted the populace once again, turning once righteous swine into voracious pigs. Piglets who had once suckled contently their sow’s milk forsake their father’s pastures in pursuit of earthly riches.
Therefore, I, Hammon: Boar of Benevolence, sought to destroy the Root of All Evil.
In an underground vault, I found the abhorrent Evil on a throne of currency and excess. It’s tongue, flaccid and pink, flickered defiantly at me. Undaunted I gripped the haft of my Warhammer and charged my adversary.
The battle was fierce!
The anthropomorphous treasure chest and I exchanged vicious attacks. We vied to overpower one another, both eager to smite the other. As my foot slipped on a mound of gold coins, the Evil unlocked its maw and dug its ivory fangs deep in my hams. Oinking my odium, I dug the pummel of my weapon into one of the myriad eyes dotting the creature’s wood-paneled face. Blood, like molten rubies, frothed forth and besmirched me with its ilk. With a grunt, I tossed the Evil from me. Its body splintered on the silver below.
Wading through the coins and banknotes, I towered over my fallen enemy. Triumphantly, I raised a cloven hoof and exclaimed, “Victory!”
The noxious Evil no longer dictates its avaricious will over the land of hogs. Piggies work with honor on their forefather's pasture. Their harvest is prosperous. Their first fruits they proffer to their family's god. Greed has been defeated and the almighty dollar is just void fiat floating in fields of lettuce and cabbage.
