âThe Silent Treatment' is a period piece, set in the mid 1920's. It is a silent, short film with an African American cast. But for the valiant efforts of amazing directors like Oscar Micheaux and a few others, African Americans were either absent from movies or portrayed by other actors in black face. 'The Silent Treatment' is my small tribute to the great Black artists who went before me and, with absolutely no hope of gaining fame and fortune during that era, somehow found a way to make movies simply because it was their creative passion. [Production completed in early September].
