Check out Randy Dunbar’s interview with Philip Littell at SoCal Mag. Philip is one of the songwriters, along with Eliot Douglass, behind Inara George's new album 𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘋𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭.

Dunbar writes, “Among the myriad talented voices that call the Southland home, one standout is Philip Littell. A man of many talents, his résumé spans opera, song, theater, and the written word. Littell has collaborated with some of the most innovative composers of our time, bringing stories to life with a lyricism that is both sharp and deeply human. His libretti have graced stages from San Francisco to Europe, and his work continues to inspire audiences with its wit, emotional depth, and fearless exploration.”

Philip Littell’s long-overlooked lyrics resurface through Inara George’s new album, revealing a sharp, theatrical voice shaped by culture, memory, and loss

From Inara George: "It was a real pleasure to join Alex Green for the second time as a guest on the Stereo Embers podcast. We talked for a while about a lot of different things, including my new album 𝘚𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘖𝘧 𝘋𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘭𝘢𝘴 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭, which Alex says is 'a moving and stirring homage to solidarity and artistic kinship.'"

The album is available now!

From Inara: "As joyful as I am to be celebrating my new album next week, it’s certainly not lost on me that these are incredibly challenging times. So many of our neighbors are suffering, which is why I wanted to make my release party a benefit for a worthy cause.

LA Voice is a multi-racial, multi-faith community organization that works to awaken people to their own power by training them to speak, act, and work together to transform LA County into a place of equity and abundance for all. Their work has only increased in importance under the current administration.

All proceeds from my Largo concert next Friday, March 20 will go to further their mission."

From Inara George: "I have a tour scheduled for June 2026, and I’d love to share the news with you in an old-fashioned way, by sending you a handwritten postcard.

In these times that can feel uncertain and distant, there’s something sweet about putting pen to paper with the thought of you holding the same card I held while writing it.

If that sounds special to you too, sign up here to receive your handwritten postcard. xoxoinara"

La lune s'en va
Ne reviendra
Jamais, jamais
Helas, helas!

You know when it's time when it's time and it's time
and you pack up a bag with a few little things, you don't have a lot,
a chain and a ring, and the prettiest dress, and you just
want to sing
and you have no regrets

Elle n'en veut plus
Elle ne veut pas
Elle en a marre
De ce fatras

You don't have to decide what to do you just do the next thing that you have to,
you're glad to, you're free, you can go where you want to and see who you like
and one of these days you'll find someone who'll like you
who you will like too maybe love but for now you are free

La lune se lasse
De tout ce qui se passe
Son grand dégoût,
Surtout, de tout

Imagine a station, imagine a train, imagine your ticket, it's starting to rain,
You go to your seat by the window and stow Your bag in the rack, you will never go back

nevergoback along the track nevergoback along the track
nevergoback along the track nevergoback along the track

Oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh
Oh oh, oh oh

I hear that the moon Is planning to leave
Let go of gravity, Traverse the sky
And wander the heavens without a goodbye
Why? The moon has her reasons

Please do not go says the sea, please please
Please do not go says the sea

La lune s'en va
Ne reviendra
Qui deviendrai-je?
Qui sas, qui sas
