Keisean Nixon practiced on a limited basis Thursday after sitting out Wednesday, giving Green Bay's secondary a lift ahead of Dallas.

Skyy Moore will not get the same break: the receiver is in a boot and on a scooter, and the Packers project him out for two-plus weeks.

Green Bay carries 11 offensive linemen on its 53-man roster right now, well above the typical eight, and expects to scratch three of them on game day.

That depth cushion matters because the injury list keeps growing elsewhere on the roster.

Javon Hargrave is expected to land on injured reserve, a move that would trim the active roster to 51 and open two spots the team needs to fill before Sunday.

Benjamin St-Juste and Jonathan Ford both carry uncertain status, and their availability against Dallas is in doubt.

Green Bay no longer has the freedom to let players miss games without making corresponding roster moves.

To reach the 48-player game-day limit, the Packers are expected to elevate from the practice squad, with receivers Savion Williams, Isaiah Neyor, Quincy Skinner Jr. and Coleman Owen among the options.

The team has two practice-squad elevations available this week, a limited tool against a growing list of absences.

Nixon's return offers one answer at cornerback, but Moore's injury removes a receiving option for at least two games.

Hargrave's expected trip to injured reserve will decide how much flexibility Green Bay actually has left to patch the defensive line.

Sunday's roster sheet against Dallas will show exactly how the Packers filled the gaps left by Hargrave, Moore, Ford and St-Juste.

Edgerrin Cooper tore his Achilles in Week 4, and Green Bay's linebacker room had a hole to fill.

Ty'Ron Hopper filled it, playing 57% of defensive snaps in Week 5 against the Chicago Bears, more than Isaiah McDuffie's 46%.

The Packers beat the Bears 31-7.

'I've seen a ton of growth. I think we kind of saw this coming throughout the course of OTAs and certainly into training camp.' - Matt LaFleur

LaFleur pointed to specific improvements in Hopper's game beyond just snap count.

'I would say in every facet of it. How he prepares, but also the fundamentals that he's playing with and his ability to diagnose what's going on. Overall football knowledge.' - Matt LaFleur

Hopper entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2024 draft and is now in his third year with the team.

Cooper, also a third-year linebacker, was sidelined by the Achilles injury suffered in Week 4.

McDuffie, a six-year veteran, and Zaire Franklin, the team captain in his ninth pro season, remain fixtures in the linebacker group alongside Hopper.

Defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon oversaw a unit that held Case Keenum and the Bears offense to 7 points.

Hopper's increased role came directly from Cooper's absence, and how he performs in the coming weeks will shape how the Packers manage the position for the rest of the season.

Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest on September 10 to battery and criminal damage to property, and five weeks later he sued to keep the police file sealed.

The Green Bay Packers running back filed the lawsuit against the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department in Brown County, Wisconsin on Wednesday, October 15, 2026.

'The public policy favoring protection of a crime victim's privacy weighs heavily against disclosure where disclosure would needlessly expose the victim to further suffering or unwanted public attention,' Jacobs' lawsuit states.

The case traces back to May 23, when an alleged domestic violence incident occurred at Jacobs' home.

Court records identify the alleged victim only by the initials 'ANM,' and she has also filed a request to block disclosure of the investigative materials.

Jacobs pleaded no contest to two counts: battery and criminal damage to property.

A judge ordered more than $1,000 in fines and fees on the battery count and handed down a suspended one-year sentence on the property damage charge.

At his plea hearing, Jacobs told the court, 'I fully understand the seriousness of the situation.'

His lawsuit seeks 'a permanent injunction, protective order, and final order' barring release of the records.

The filing argues the documents 'contain information pertaining to him, depicting his property, or revealing private information concerning his residence and garage.'

Jacobs' legal team also raises a safety argument, stating that 'public sports figures have been targeted for robbery and related property crimes.'

The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department is named as the defendant in the civil suit.

No hearing date for the records case has been disclosed.

871 combined receiving yards through five games puts Christian Watson and Matthew Golden on pace for 2,960 yards this season.

That projection would blow past the Packers' current record of 2,086 yards, set by Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb in 2014.

Watson and Golden currently lead every receiving duo in the NFL, ahead of Cincinnati's Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the Rams' Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, and Dallas' CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

Watson spent past seasons fighting off criticism that his contract outpaced his production, with injuries cutting short multiple possible Pro Bowl runs.

Golden opened his career labeled a bust after a quiet rookie season, prompting Green Bay to trade Dontayvion Wicks and let Romeo Doubs leave in free agency to clear his path.

Jordan Love has thrown for 1,408 yards, second-most in the league, with 10 touchdowns through five games.

Matt LaFleur has leaned the offense toward the pass as the Packers' running game has struggled to produce.

That shift has funneled targets to Watson and Golden and turned Green Bay into one of the league's most productive passing attacks.

Dallas awaits in Week 6, and the matchup arrives with its own complication for the Cowboys.

CeeDee Lamb is dealing with a quad injury suffered in Week 5, clouding his availability against the Packers' surging receiver duo.

Green Bay's next test will show whether Watson and Golden can keep pace against a Dallas secondary already missing its top offensive weapon.

Packers 31, Bears 7, and Micah Parsons still had something to say two days later.

"I don't be worried about him. They're rage baiters. They wanna be viral all the time … I don't got no response for him. I'm in too good of a headspace to get in that world." - Micah Parsons, on The Edge podcast

Green Bay buried Chicago by 24 points in Week 5, and Bears quarterbacks Tyson Bagent and Case Keenum combined to throw three interceptions.

The win pushed the Packers to 3-2 on the season.

Trash talk flew both directions before kickoff, part of a rivalry that stretches back decades between the two NFC North franchises.

Parsons singled out Bears receiver Luther Burden III by name on his podcast, framing him as chasing viral moments rather than results.

"To me, this his second year in the rivalry. This my second year in the rivalry. I don't got nothing to say. We ain't earn that right yet." - Micah Parsons

Parsons drew a line between pre-game noise and what actually happened on the field, letting the scoreboard do the talking.

Green Bay now turns to Week 6, hosting the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football.

The Packers need consecutive wins to stay in the thick of the NFC North race, and Dallas presents a different kind of test than the rivalry game just finished.

Jordan Love completed 25 of 31 passes for 367 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions as the Green Bay Packers beat the Chicago Bears 31-7.

The performance earned Love the FedEx Air and Ground Player of Week 5 award and a career-high passer rating of 137.5.

Love completed 80.6% of his throws, a number that places him alongside Aaron Rodgers as the only Packers quarterback to hit 350+ yards, multiple touchdowns, zero interceptions and 80%+ completion in a single game.

Rodgers reached that statistical combination twice, in 2013 and 2019.

Brett Favre matched it twice, and Don Majkowski did it once in franchise history.

Love now has three 300-yard games this season, and he is the only quarterback in the NFL with two separate 350-yard, multi-touchdown performances this year.

No Packers quarterback had produced multiple games of that caliber within the first five contests of a season since Rodgers did it in 2011.

FedEx will donate $2,000 to Feeding America in Love's name, part of a total $4,000 donation split between both Player of the Week honorees.

The Bears managed only seven points against Green Bay's offense, a margin that let Love's numbers stand out against a full defensive performance.

Love's next outing will determine whether this stretch becomes a sustained stat pattern or a single standout week within the 2025 season.

Joey Porter Jr. missed Dallas' Thursday night game against Tampa Bay after vomiting repeatedly in the hours before kickoff, and he's set to play Green Bay at Lambeau Field with no limits on his snaps.

'On my way to the game, I was throwing up outside of my Uber. It was brutal. I'm not gonna lie.' - Joey Porter Jr.

Porter said he tried everything to play through it before the Buccaneers game.

'I really just couldn't hold anything down. You know, I just kept throwing up. I try to fight through. I tried to take a nap before the game, just to shake it off, but I just couldn't hold in deep down,' he said.

'So that's when they made the call to send me home,' he added.

Dallas had traded for Porter on short notice, and he'd only played one previous game for the team, a win over Houston in which he was kept on a pitch count.

Missing the Tampa Bay game cost him a chance to build on that limited workload.

'You go into the week thinking you're gonna get more of a workload, and you're ready to go, and then that's ultimately what doesn't happen. It was very frustrating. I was prepared to play all week. My mindset was on playing, the mindset was to get the dub, and obviously I didn't get to do that, and we didn't get the dub. I was pretty pi**ed,' Porter said.

Dallas lost that game without him on the field.

The illness forced a recovery window that Porter used to study Dallas' playbook more deeply after his abrupt arrival from Pittsburgh.

Porter's exit from the Steelers came after a contract standoff, followed by a trade to Dallas and an immediate scramble to learn a new defense.

Now cleared from the illness, he's aiming to play his first full game for Dallas without any snap restrictions.

'That's what I'm shooting for. That's what they're shooting for as well. So that's what we're gonna try to do,' he said of playing without a pitch count against Green Bay.

Porter and Dallas' coaching staff both see the Packers game as the moment his workload finally matches his readiness.

Green Bay ranks dead last in the NFL in total carries, yet its passing attack has turned that weakness into a weapon nobody saw coming.

'Without Josh Jacobs, who's on the commissioner's exempt list, the Packers have leaned heavily on their aerial attack, ranking 10th in pass attempts and last in total carries,' Bleacher Report analyst Moe Moton wrote.

Jacobs, Green Bay's lead back, sits on the commissioner's exempt list, stripping the offense of its ground-game anchor.

Jayden Reed, the team's other key weapon, suffered a season-ending neck injury in Week 2, thinning an already shorthanded receiving corps.

Christian Watson has filled both voids at once, catching a team-leading 26 passes for 474 yards and six touchdowns.

Those numbers rank fifth and second leaguewide, respectively, and Watson has topped 142 receiving yards in two separate games this season, scoring two touchdowns in each.

Moton named Watson a dark-horse candidate for an end-of-year NFL award based on that production.

Matthew Golden, in his second year, has already piled up 397 receiving yards and two touchdowns, surpassing his entire rookie-season total.

Combined, Watson and Golden have produced 871 receiving yards, the most of any receiver tandem in the league.

Green Bay signed Watson to a four-year, $110.5 million extension in the offseason, a bet that now looks tied directly to the team's survival without a functioning run game.

Moton's pick for Offensive Player of the Year went to Jahmyr Gibbs of the Detroit Lions, a reminder of how far Green Bay's backfield trails the division's best.

Jacobs' status on the exempt list remains the variable that could reshape the Packers' offensive identity the moment it changes.

Jordan Love threw for 367 yards and two touchdowns, and the Green Bay Packers buried the Chicago Bears 31-7.

Love posted a season-high 95.2 QBR and a 137.5 passer rating, numbers that outpace anything he produced in the previous five games.

Matt LaFleur faced criticism for conservative play-calling through that stretch, with Josh Jacobs unavailable and the run game stuck in neutral.

Against Ben Johnson's Bears, LaFleur flipped the script and opened four of six second-half drives through the air, excluding garbage time.

Christian Watson caught a 53-yard pass, Matthew Golden hauled in a 50-yarder, and Tucker Kraft added a 46-yard grab.

Green Bay led 14-0 at halftime and 20-7 after three quarters before pulling away late.

Six completions produced three plays of 46 yards or longer, a strike rate that turned a comfortable lead into a rout.

LaFleur and Johnson carry rivalry tension into every meeting between these franchises, and Sunday's lopsided score only sharpens it.

Love's rhythm with Watson, Golden and Kraft suggests the passing attack, not the ground game, now defines this offense.

The Packers face a clear next question: whether LaFleur keeps calling plays this way once Jacobs returns to the backfield.

"Jayden Daniels probably cost my man Dan Quinn his job, to be honest with you." - Micah Parsons

Parsons sits on injured reserve with the Packers, but that did not stop him from grading Washington's overtime collapse against the Giants.

The Commanders and Giants finished tied 27-27 on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, after Daniels took a sack with 14 seconds left and no timeouts remaining.

Parsons broke down the play on his podcast, "The Edge," released Oct. 13, 2026 at 5:02 p.m. ET.

"I'm a big Jayden Daniels fan," Parsons said, "but the reality is, like, he probably cost a lot of people their jobs."

Quinn coached Parsons for three seasons in Dallas before taking over as Commanders head coach.

Parsons said the situation is drilled into every defensive player and should have been just as automatic for Daniels.

"All respectfully, we get coached so much on these situations," Parsons said.

"Like, I'm a defensive player, and this (expletive) is programmed into me," he said.

"There's no way I'm taking a sack with 14 seconds left and no timeouts," Parsons said.

Parsons pointed to Daniels' experience as the reason the mistake carries weight.

"It would be different if Jayden Daniels was a rookie," he said.

"This is your third year ... you've been to the NFC championship game, you've been in big moments before," Parsons said.

He called the lapse unacceptable for a quarterback with that resume.

"That's inexcusable, bro," Parsons said.

"The lack of urgency – I would have had to say something to him in the locker room," he said.

Parsons insisted the coaching staff must have flagged the clock situation beforehand.

"There's no way that they didn't say 'Hey, this is the situation here,'" Parsons said.

"We got all these situations every single week, so there's no way you don't know these situations," he said.

Quinn's job security now sits under public scrutiny, with owner Josh Harris overseeing a franchise that just let a winnable game slip into a tie.

Parsons remains out with the Packers, but his comments have already put Washington's quarterback and head coach in the same uncomfortable spotlight.
