The Best Games of 2026 According to Metacritic Scores

Happy first of October! With only three months left in 2026, I love to look at the Metacritic rankings for games released and see what people have been enjoying.

Many of the titles I’ve played, like Pokopia and Splatoon Raiders, are here. I also am now interested in looking into other titles like Trails in the Sky and maybe finally trying Lies of P.

Are any of your favorite games of 2026 on this list?

Godzilla Night at Dodger Stadium

Words cannot express how full my heart is after this past week. I feel most connected to people when I get to share quality time on a more one-on-one level rather than big group settings or parties.

And, my people showed up for me allllll week long 🥺 I’m still recovering from all the special events and festivities, and I wanted to revisit the last day of 33.

One of my friends got us tickets to see the Dodgers and it was the perfect send off. We had our fair share of baseball foods, watched the Dodgers lose 🥲, and ended it all with a Godzilla drone show.

Don’t get me wrong, I am living for the stadium souvenir, but I also love that I got to capture so much of the night on my 3DS.

Can you guess what console I am getting next?

I plugged my analogue pocket into my crt tv and it’s *okay* but it could definitely look better. This is what sparked an idea for me.

My next retro console is officially ordered - I can’t wait to unbox it with you guys!

Reflecting on Year 33

I spent most of this month thinking back on all that my 33rd year of life entailed.

My reflex is almost always imposter syndrome. There is always more I could’ve done, people I could’ve shown up more strongly for, career aspirations I could’ve accomplished.

Even still, one year later as I looked back on all the pictures that made up this time, I was reminded of the many ways of “becoming”.

I do not think that I will ever “reach” the idealized me, and this year has been one of fully embracing and loving that. I want to continue to grow, to try new things, to live life without abandon.

I enter year 34 with bright hopes that there will be plenty more becoming in the months ahead.

My Complete Nintendo Switch Starter Pack

I love way too many games on the Nintendo Switch, and more than likely left some of my faves out, but this is a good launching point.
There is so much diversity in what you can play on the Switch, and by this point the library is huge. Both in digital and physical copies, I have played so many all-time favorites.

What games would you add to this list?

The Locker Tour - Outtakes

Every time I film, I get these stills and moments that I really love, but don’t get to share them as much. Here are some moments from the locker tour.

What’s your favorite Gameboy Color or Gameboy Advance game?

Splatoon Raiders Initial Review

It’s hard for me to review this game without looking at the greater context of recent Nintendo releases.

For example, I loooooved Pokopia and the many ways it changes not only the way we view Pokemon, but how a Pokemon game functions.

Innovation.

I disliked Donkey Kong Bananza mostly because it felt like a copy and paste of Nintendo’s familiar mechanics. And, seeing these same mechanics in Splatoon Raiders was a little disappointing. The general movement and attacking of foes, as well as how you traverse through the maps, jumping through hoops and getting on rails, have been done not only in Bananza but also for Metroid Prime 4 Beyond and even partially in Tears of the Kingdom.

As a big fan of Nintendo, I am enjoying this game for what it is. The levels are miniature and bite sized in a way that allows you to leave and return. The modification system is great. But, I wanted to feel like I’m playing a game that is unique in its own right.

So far, I sadly can’t say that’s the case.

Donkey Kong Bananza or Splatoon Raiders?

I’ll be talking about these two in my next video, but I’m curious to hear your thoughts, too!

An Updated Little Locker Tour

I’ve been collecting quite a few more games as of late, and my little locker was looking a little messy.

I took that as an opportunity to both clean up and show you guys what I’ve been collecting altogether as of late. Seeing all my “backlogged” oldies definitely made me want to stop the cleaning and enjoy some Pirates of the Caribbean or Legend of Zelda.

I’m almost done with Splatoon Raiders though, so they will have to wait.
