I (57F) lost my husband of 25 years last year. He had a daughter, Susan (34F).
Our relationship with Susan was fine. She got married to the man of her choice, but after that, it was all downhill.
When he died, he didn't leave a will. After his death, Susan didn't even attend his funeral. Barely six months later, she and her husband barged into our house with a lawyer, demanding I sign some documents and a blank sheet.
I asked the lawyer what it was about. He said it was for transferring all the assets into Susan and her husband's name. I said no. When they refused to leave, my neighbor, bless his heart, heard the yelling and physically kicked them out.

Alright, so every year, my friends and I plan a big group trip to a fun destination. This year, it was my turn to organize everything, and I was excited to take on the task. We decided on this beautiful lakeside cabin for a weekend getaway, and everyone was totally on board. The rental cost was $2,000 for the three-night stay, which broke down to $250 per person since there were eight of us.
I booked the rental and paid the full amount upfront, confident that my friends would pay me back as we had agreed. But as the trip got closer, I started getting excuses. First, it was "I'll get it to you next week," then "I just need to wait until my next paycheck," and eventually, some of them just stopped responding to my messages altogether. I was out $2,000 and feeling completely taken advantage of.

My mom recently passed away after a long battle with cancer. She was always my best friend, so I was there every step of the way while she battled the illness.

Our family hated each other, to be sure. Mom never cared about anything except her acting. My brother totally lost it, marrying this Stacy girl — an obvious gold digger. So, my husband Scott and I moved far away from this madness.
We became so estranged that when I got pregnant, I didn’t even want to tell them. Why bother when Mom would ignore my kid just like she ignored me?
The one I truly loved was Grandma. Boy, she was there for me all the time. Nana was the only light in this crazy family. So, when she gathered all these weirdos for her 80th b-day, Scott and I agreed to go.
It was tense from the start, but everyone tried not to upset Nana. Finally, she said:
“Kids, I’ve made a will. All my money will go to the one who earned my trust.”
Suddenly, any attempt to keep it civil just went out the window. My brother and I started throwing aggressive comments at each other, trying to hurt the most. I went to vacation to relax, and while checking in at the hotel, I saw my daughter and son-in-law – who supposedly died in a car crash five years ago. My heart nearly stopped. They were casually browsing a gift shop. I was torn between confronting them and letting them go. But I followed them and called out my daughter’s name. She turned, looked shocked, and then they ran.
I chased them outside, demanding they stop or I'd call the police. They froze, and I finally got the chance to confront them. They led me to their hotel room, and after some intense questioning, the truth came out. 👇
