Today marks the anniversary of the Palisades fire.
We pause to honor the loss, fear, and disruption this community experienced, and to acknowledge that healing does not follow a neat or predictable timeline.
Our latest episode offers a quiet glimpse of hope by sharing how the Marquez community is doing today. Not because everything is resolved, but because resilience continues in small, meaningful ways. In classrooms, in relationships, and in the choice to keep showing up for one another.
If today feels heavy, you are not alone. We invite you to watch with tenderness and care.

One of our favorite moments from Episode 53 ✨
Kenneth A. Carlson reflects on Roger Fishman - Artist, Adventurer & Activist’s resilience after the Palisades Fire, and it’s both moving and inspiring in the best way.
Ken, Katrina Carlson, and Jefferson Denim also share their favorite highlights from this year’s podcast and the moments that made them laugh, reflect, and feel deeply connected.

How Do We Bounce Forward After Loss? -
“I wish it need not have happened in my time,” said Frodo. “So do I, “ said Gandalf, “and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.” ”

Our hearts are with the students, families, educators, and the entire Brown University community in the wake of this devastating shooting. We grieve the lives impacted and hold close those who are hurting, frightened, and searching for comfort.
Our host, Katrina Carlson, and her husband met while attending Brown University, and all three of their children have studied there. Two have graduated, and one is currently a junior. Their family is grieving alongside the entire Brown community.
We hold onto the strength and perspective that even in darkness, community can endure, support one another, and find the light and resilience needed to move forward.
In moments like this, may we surround one another with care, compassion, and a renewed commitment to protecting our children and our communities.

Get Inspired by Everyday Humans Doing Crazy Amazing Things!
Our mission is to find the stories of people from all walks of life who are choosing to write their own narratives by becoming a part of solutions. Crazy Amazing Humans podcast highlights stories of those who use their time, talent and resources to give back and extend kindness in whatever way they have chosen. We believe that hearing these stories can inspire each of us to find ways to do the same in our own communities. We want to be a positive influence and show how crazy amazing humans can be!
Crazy Amazing Humans wants to come alongside these efforts (sometimes occurring in the face of intense opposition) to highlight how simple choices of extending kindness can inspire us to do the same. It is as simple as saying, “yes” and responding to the needs that are right in front of us.
We celebrate choices that make the world a better place - we do so in a way that shows that all of us have this capacity. We can choose to use our talents and passions to, as Thoreau said, “live the life you have imagined.” Living and giving to help others not only helps those you are assisting; it fulfills a sense of purpose in you personally when you do the giving. Our vision is to help create, connect and encourage this kind of world! Come join us in our mission.
