Eid Mubarak from our family to yours 💗 I am SO proud to of this community. Together we were able to raise almost $150,000 for the orphans of Gaza and urgent medical aid this Ramadan. May God bless you and your families and give you the best in this life and hereafter. May He make all of our prayers come true and allow us to always stay close to Him 💗 May He ease the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Gaza and anyone undergoing injustice in this world. The second photo is my Palestinian grandmother, May God bless her soul. She fleed from her home in Jerusalem with her family when she was a little girl during the 1948 Nakba (“catastrophe”) after the formation of the state of Israel where over 750,000 Palestinians were displaced as a result of violence by the Israeli military. She use to talk about how before Israel was created, Muslims, Christians and Jews lived together as peaceful neighbors. How devastated she would be to know there is an even larger Nakba happening today. As a Palestinian, most of my family is scattered around the world and I have never visited my homeland. When people ask me where I’m from it’s always a complicated story, but I have such a deep sense of connection to my Palestinian culture and so much pride for my people. It hits different when those who are suffering look just like my family members. My heart will always be in Palestine even if I’ve never physically been there, and praying every day for freedom and peace🕊️

5 months as a family of 4 💗 Going from 1-2 children has been the biggest adjustment for Omar and I because even in these photos you can see our attention is always directed at the babies and less on ourselves. I know one day we will miss these days, and now more than ever I’m taking all the struggles of motherhood as blessings because we are safe, healthy and together and that’s what matters. 🤲🏻

Went to my first protest ever this weekend 💗 It felt so good to be around thousands of people who all feel the same way. What do we mean when we say “Free Palestine”? We literally mean just that. FREE Palestine from the occupation, equal rights for Palestinians, no more blockade, no more control. EVERYONE deserves to be free! Please never believe anyone who tries to tell you anything else about this movement💗 Love you all and FREE PALESTINE 🇵🇸

I stand with Palestine

As many of you know, I am a Palestinian-American. My father is Palestinian. His mom, my grandmother was forcefully removed from her home in Palestine and was never able to return. I am deeply saddened by the recent events that have taken place. I want to live in a world where Palestinian children can go to sleep without having to worry if they will wake up again. Where they can go to school and pursue their dreams. I want to live in a world where Palestinians can roam freely in their homeland, without the constant oppression, humiliation and fear that they have lived in for the past 75 years. I want to live in a world where Palestinians can hope to aspire for a better life, free from the confines of an open air prison. Stop the murder, stop the humiliation, stop the injustice. Stop the loss of innocent lives. It cannot continue like this. I am praying for real peace. For decades, the world has turned its back on Palestine, but God is always with them. God willing, Palestine will be free!
