Two quick settings to check before exporting a Premiere master for DCP creation:

• Field Order: Progressive
• Color Space: Rec.709 for a normal HD workflow

Cinema delivery should not start from an interlaced master. And if your project is standard Rec.709, there is no need to invent a cinema color conversion inside Premiere—the DCP process handles that separately.

Edited your film on a 60fps Premiere timeline? Do not assume a 60fps DCP will play at the festival.

Most cinema servers are built around standard DCP frame rates, and 60fps playback requires specific HFR support. Unless the venue has confirmed that it accepts a 60fps HFR DCP, a 60fps timeline normally needs a standard-rate delivery workflow.

Confirm the venue before you lock the export.

Before you upload your film for DCP creation, check the very first frame of the master. Your file should begin on the first frame of picture—not a countdown, slate, color bars, or other production leader.

Pure DCP can sometimes trim material during the DCP process, but a clean export removes ambiguity and helps the order move without delays.

Looking for the old Wraptor DCP export in Premiere Pro? Adobe removed it from recent versions, and there is no built-in replacement.

The better workflow is to export a clean, high-quality master from Premiere and create the DCP from that master. It keeps the edit workflow simple and leaves the cinema-specific encoding, color conversion, audio mapping, and packaging to the DCP process.

Do you need a 4K DCP?

For most independent filmmakers and festival submissions, 2K is the practical choice. Many festival venues project in 2K, and a 4K DCP does not improve the screening when the projector is 2K.

Choose 4K when the source, venue, distributor, or release requirements specifically call for it. Otherwise, 2K usually provides the right balance of compatibility and cost. https://zurl.co/lbgzF

Short-film pricing tip:

Because Pure DCP has a $150 minimum, a very short film may cost the same at more than one turnaround tier.

For example, a 10-minute 2K short falls under the minimum at 5-day, 3-day, and 1-day service—so all three options are $150.

Before automatically choosing the slowest option, compare the actual total for your runtime. https://zurl.co/4j9c3

How much does a DCP cost?

Pure DCP pricing starts at $5 per minute for 2K with 5-day turnaround, with a $150 minimum order. Faster turnaround and 4K delivery have higher per-minute rates.

Digital cloud delivery and six months of cloud storage are included with every order.

The easiest way to reduce the cost is to plan ahead and choose standard turnaround. https://zurl.co/xe0Xn

The 2:1 aspect ratio does not match Flat or Scope exactly.

That does not mean one container is always preferred. The right choice depends on the film’s actual active picture and how the filmmaker intends it to be presented.

Pure DCP reviews the image and uses the container that best fits the film rather than applying a default. https://zurl.co/F4YG3

Not sure whether your DCP should be Flat or Scope? You do not have to solve it alone.

Pure DCP checks the actual picture content—not only the file dimensions—and selects the appropriate cinema container. If the source is genuinely ambiguous, we contact you before encoding.

You can also include a note with your order when you have a specific presentation preference. https://zurl.co/feZXk

One of the most common DCP aspect-ratio mistakes starts with a 1920×1080 file that already has black bars at the top and bottom.

The file dimensions say 16:9, but the actual picture may be 2.39:1. If the whole file is placed into Flat, the projected image can end up with black borders on all four sides—a distracting “floating window.”

The active picture area matters more than the outer file dimensions. https://zurl.co/DelrM
