My late stepmother LEFT ME HER $3 MILLION MANSION, while her three children received ONLY $4,000 EACH.
I was ten years old when my mother died, and two years later, my father married Helen — a woman who already had three children of her own: Lisa, Emily, and Jonathan.
From the very beginning, I felt like an outsider. Helen was polite but distant, and her children made sure I knew I didn't belong.
When my father died, I was eighteen. I packed my bags and left that house.
Twenty years passed. I built a new life and never heard from them again.
But one evening, a lawyer called — Helen had passed away. He said she wanted me to be present for the reading of her will.
I went, not knowing why. But what I heard left everyone speechless.
"To my stepdaughter, Anna," the lawyer read,
"I leave my house on Lakeview Drive, worth three million dollars. IT'S THE LEAST I CAN DO AFTER WHAT I'VE DONE."
He continued:
"To my children, Lisa, Emily, and Jonathan, I leave $4,000 each."
The room erupted.
"NO! That will is forged!" Lisa screamed.
Jonathan slammed his fist on the table: "She's gone crazy!"
I ran out before the shouting got worse. But I needed to know THE TRUTH.
When I arrived at Lakeview Drive, I stepped inside the mansion.
On the dusty kitchen table sat a SMALL BOX with a sealed envelope inside — MY NAME written in Helen's neat handwriting.
My hands trembled as I opened it.
"Dear Anna, if you're reading this… it's time for you to know THE PAINFUL TRUTH."⬇️ See less
