NBA 2K Mobile Campaign - VFX by Frender
SHOT ON BLUE. BUILT IN VFX.
For the NBA 2K Mobile campaign, the live-action performances were shot on blue screen — and we built the world around them.
The stadium, the crowd, the scale of a packed game-day arena — all created in 3D and integrated with the live-action footage.
Across all four spots, the goal was to make every element feel like part of the same real environment.
And then there was Scooby.
For his “Ball is life” moment, we created the mouth animation in post.
From blue screen to a complete NBA world!

T.I. & Summer Walker — “AND WON’T”

For this one, we put T.I. where he wasn’t actually standing: on top of Mercedes-Benz Stadium and inside an empty arena.
⠀
We composited the performance plates into aerial and stadium footage, matching the perspective, camera movement, lighting, and grain to make the shots hold together. We also created the multi-frame compositions connecting T.I., Summer Walker, and the Atlanta locations, along with cleanup and finishing throughout the video.

Cody Johnson’s “The Fall” is nominated for Music Video of the Year at the 60th Annual CMA Awards.
FRENDER created the VFX for the video, helping bring its visual world to life and support the story on screen.
Recognition like this means a lot to us. VFX is one part of a much bigger creative process, and we’re proud to have contributed to a project now recognized at this level.
