Seahorse Sound Studios recording studio in downtown Los Angeles Seahorse Sound is a recording studio located in downtown Los Angeles.

The studio is located in an old warehouse, once used as a handbag factory. The unique configuration of brick and wood lends it self to be an inpsiring sounding recording studio. Seahorse features a room large enough for a small orchestra (23x30X24), and has acoustically unique spaces throughout the building. The control room houses a vintage Neve 8038 console and is located on a 2nd story overlooking the main live room. Please see our gear list for more equipment information.

I can finally reveal that Seahorse has temporarily expanded into a Topanga Canyon residential studio. It’s a beautiful redwood house atop a mountain, packed with some the best gear from the Seahorse Sound collection. 24 channels / full band setup / Sleeps 3-5 with private bedrooms and patios. Also has a ton of history and albums recorded here in the 60’s and 70’s. I don’t do the name drop thing , but I’m sure you can guess!

We recorded the drums for this one at the awesome Seahorse Sound Studios owned by our friend Samur Khouja in Downtown Los Angeles. We continue to go there for the helpful and enthusiastic staff and the variety of sounds we are able to get out of the room.

As a way to say thank you to my hometown of Linz, Tips.at, Pflasterspektakel amongst others, as well as to friends and family, who all contributed to a beautiful summertime in Austria, I sang a German song of mine for this week's Lelesession called "Du Mit Mir".
