It took me 29 years to realize that my “bandwidth” and “capacity” could be referring to my ENERGY, not my TIME. 🤯

My capacity changes week to week. Some days I feel like I can go for 12 hours uninterrupted. Other days it’s a struggle to open my laptop.

I found that the more I tried to be “at 100%” all the time, the more burnt out & resentful I felt, and the less proud I was of how I was showing up for the things I was committing to.

When I tried to color-code or time-batch or otherwise “efficiency” my way out of my own very human ups and downs, the more irritated and UN-human I felt. I had to remind myself that I’m not a machine — and I shouldn’t strive to be. 🤖 (I’m saying this in past tense, but it’s still a very present challenge, lmao)
This shift has been such a mental game changer in how I think about my schedule and commitments. ✍🏼

For the young workers, I wonder if the cohort’s real wages have gone up because they’re older and have more experience now…?
