"Survived" makes it sound finished. Like something you did once and now it's behind you.

It isn't like that. You wake up and have to find the will to do it again, every single day, because every single day you're still gone.

People see the version of you that's standing. They don't see what it costs to stand there.

You don't have to perform "fine" for anyone today.

So many people grieve in silence because somebody once told them it was time to "move on."

That's not how love works, and it's not how loss works either. There's no deadline on missing someone.

These soft blossoms still opening on the branch, still reaching, remind me that growth and grief can exist in the same breath. Nobody should have to carry that alone.

If you're the one grieving quietly, you don't have to be anymore. Not here.

There's a before and an after, and you can point to the exact day the line got drawn.

Everyone else's life kept moving on schedule. Yours split in two and never fully put itself back together the old way.

That wilting flower bent low under its own weight says it without needing words. Some loss just reshapes you, quietly, permanently.

You don't have to go back to who you were before. You're allowed to just be who this loss made you.

Good days, bad days, worst days, best days. Somehow every single one of them still led you here, carrying them in your heart.

Even the hardest days with them taught you something you wouldn't trade away. Even the ordinary ones turned into memories you're holding onto now.

Look at that cardinal sitting steady on a fence covered in snow. Winter doesn't stop it from being exactly where it needs to be.

Not one day with them deserves regret. Not even this one.

Time keeps moving and somehow that never stops the love from going the same direction it always has — straight up, straight toward them.

I don't need proof it arrives. I just need to keep sending it.

Love like this was never going to stay on the ground. It was always going to reach for the sky.

Who are you loving from a distance today?

Losing them took more than them. It took the version of you that existed before this.

You're not being dramatic. People who haven't lived this don't always understand that grief doesn't just remove a person — it rearranges you.

I won't tell you that you'll "find yourself" again, because this isn't a scavenger hunt with a clean ending. You're just going to become someone new, someone who carries this loss, and that's allowed to be true without it being fixed today.

Full moon, open water, a bird crossing the light — and you, still standing at the edge of it searching for something you already know isn't coming back the way you want it to.

Some nights the memory just arrives without asking. One second you're fine, the next your chest remembers exactly what it's missing.

I can't help wondering if some part of them still finds its way to nights like this one.

Just one more time. I know. Me too.

Someone who hasn't lost like this might ask why you're still grieving so long, so hard.

Let them wonder. That confusion is a kind of luck you don't have anymore.

This grief is the size it is because the love was that size too. Nobody earns a love this deep and walks away from it easily.

Stand in the waves as long as you need to.

I used to think grief would eventually leave. That one day I'd wake up and it just wouldn't be there anymore.

It doesn't work that way. It finds a room in you and settles in, quiet most days, present all of them.

That cardinal isn't going anywhere either, is it. Just sitting with the fallen leaf like it belongs there. Like some things are simply meant to stay close.

Wherever grief has made its home in you, you're allowed to let it stay a while.

CAPTION FOR IMAGE 1

The bench is empty, and somehow it's the loudest thing in this whole picture.

You never planned for a version of life where you're waiting on a message that isn't coming. Where "your presence" becomes a phrase you use instead of the real thing.

The fog on that water looks exactly like how the days feel right now. Heavy. Unclear. Like the shape of things hasn't settled yet.

One rose on an old wooden bench. It doesn't need to say anything else.
