The San Joaquin Treads Scooter Club, in conjunction with The Rides of March and Strange Brew Scooter Club, proudly presents the SJ Treads S.C. 40th Anniversary celebration. (Tix link in bio) Headlining this milestone event is the eight-piece Soul and Reggae powerhouse, “Police and Thieves,” featuring the incredible Jackie Mendez. Also gracing the bill are Mod/power pop legends, “The Question.” Providing the soulful sounds before, between, and after the bands are the talented DJs: The Selecter DJ Kirk from San Francisco, Cid Hernandez from Ventura, Chito “Islander Mod” and Virginia Ann from Los Angeles.

Right around the year 2000-01 to 2005 I stopped doing music related business. I stopped DJing regularly, stopped promoting parties etc. I went out ocasionally, I might have done a little pirate radio but that was it.

I took the time off after going hard for the better part of two decades in subculture and underground scenes to strategize the next chapter.

This past six months of not DJing and not promoting has been a nice break. I won’t be mad if it continues for another six months.

Doing work still, just in a different way.
