We’re renovating a bathroom and discovered mold inside one of the walls.

The problem is that on the other side of that wall is a large built-in cabinet that we custom built only about a year ago, and we really don’t want to tear the whole thing out unless absolutely necessary.

Has anyone dealt with something similar?

What’s the best way to properly address the mold and make sure the moisture source is fixed without destroying the cabinetry on the other side?

I definitely don’t want to just cover it back up, but I’m hoping there may be a way to access and remediate it from the bathroom side.

Would love advice from anyone with mold remediation or renovation experience.

Is this normal?

My husband is patching a hole in the ceiling, and the mud he used had been watered down with soap mixed into it. I suggested getting fresh mud, but he said it was fine.

I also thought we should add some wood backing across the hole so the new drywall would have something solid to attach to, but he didn’t think that was necessary either.

Now the patch is sagging where that lump is, which is why I started pulling it down.

He says it just needs another coat of mud and that everything else looks fine.

Am I overreacting, or does this need to be redone properly before we keep going?

Is this a fair quote?

I’m renting my first house, and while moving in a new refrigerator I accidentally put a hole in the drywall.

I was quoted **$600** to repair it.

Does that sound like a reasonable price for a repair this size, or should I get a couple more quotes?

I’d appreciate any input from drywall pros or anyone who has paid for a similar repair.

First time doing drywall on a project this size.

From hanging the sheets all the way through mudding and sanding, this took me the better part of **6 weeks**.

Definitely learned a ton along the way, and **Vancouver Carpenter on YouTube was an absolute godsend**. 🙏🏼

Not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of how it turned out for my first large-scale drywall project.

Finished the **second layer of 5/8" drywall** in the home theater.

It’s definitely starting to feel like a real room now.
