Three people got in a car to grab burgers. Only one came home. Luis, 19, had his 14-year-old brother in the back and his 32-year-old cousin up front. A trooper tried to pull him over for speeding and he ran instead — twelve minutes, up to 140 mph. Police called off the chase because it got too dangerous. He kept going anyway, and five minutes later he ran a red light at close to 100 and hit a Toyota Camry.

Behind the wheel was Makayla Hankins, 21, driving to pick her husband up from work. They'd been married days. Christian, 14. Jose, 32. Makayla, 21. All three died. Luis walked away with minor injuries and told detectives he panicked — he had no record and nothing to run from. Prosecutors asked for 25 years. He got two in prison and seven on home detention.

Mom Charged in 2-Year-Old's Death – Prosecutors Say She'd Been Following the Lindsay Clancy Trial

A 2-year-old boy in Frankfort, Illinois is gone. His name was Barrett Walsh. His family called him Bear. He was born in March 2024, so he'd just turned two.

Police were called just after 4 p.m. Tuesday for an unresponsive child. When officers got there, a neighbor was already doing CPR on him. He didn't survive.

His mother, 40-year-old Corie Walsh, has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. And here's the part that has everyone talking. According to court documents, prosecutors say Walsh believed her son was the "anti-Christ." Witnesses reportedly told police she had recently become very focused on the Lindsay Clancy case, and that she'd been discussing it in a group text just hours before.

Walsh's attorney says she was experiencing a psychotic episode. His statement called it a tragedy for the entire Walsh family, all of whom are mourning the loss of this child. She's in custody and being held for medical treatment.

I want to be really clear about something. Nothing here has been proven. She hasn't been convicted of anything, and prosecutors noting what she was reading isn't the same as anyone establishing why this happened. That's for a court to sort out.

I just keep coming back to the fact that there's a two-year-old at the center of this. Rest easy, Bear. 🤍
