Proud of how I was able to bring this silly little concept from my brain into reality 🐸 Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love to dress up, but the past few years, I’ve been grappling with 1. the financial aspect of going hard on my costumes and 2. the consumerism surrounding them. But this year I had some leftover green blanket yarn and an idea.

I completely freehanded the hat and built the rest of the fit out of thrifted pieces from my closet. I was so proud that I’d managed to make a cute lil costume without buying anything new! (At the Halloween party, everyone gave me sh*t for the “low effort costume” until I told them I’d spent 6 hours that day finishing the hat. Once people learned it was handmade, then it was a hit loll)

Tbh this guy is one of my fav creations so far. And bonus is that I love to rave so have plenty of opportunities to rewear 🐸🖤🧡

Frog invasion! I crocheted a whole army of frog purses – every one with its own personality 🐸🧶I’ve been obsessed with making crochet frog purses and ended up creating a whole squad — all different colors, eyes, details and faces 😄 Some have flowers, some moss, some big mouths, others sleepy eyes. I used velvet lining and metal clasps for the frames, everything handmade from scratch. Let me know which one is your favorite and I’ll show close-ups! 💚

I got sick of all the AI generated sweaters, so I made a real version I initially started this as a rage project, because I kept seeing post after post asking, "where can I get this?" And it's clearly another fake, AI generated piece of clothing. F**k all that, we don't need AI to make cool things, we're perfectly capable of doing it ourselves.

Finished my art jacket! I posted this (https://www.reddit.com/r/crochet/s/J3OocC64oy) a while ago, and finally finished the jacket!

The inspiration was one of my favorite things to draw as a kid mountains, the sun and a house with trees in the foreground. I chose to keep the rest of the jacket relatively simpler since the back is supposed to be the standout part, but it still follows the terrain and small aspects of the back dotted around.

It does fit a bit boxy but that’s what happens when you put rectangles and cylinders together XD and the arms are a bit long but I’ll say that was an artistic choice. I’m open to any suggestions on how people make their wearables fit better on themselves so I could use the tips if I choose to indulge in another jacket/sweater in the future. And if anyone wants any information on how I went about it you can comment or message me and I’ll rant about what I did. Thank you for reading 🙇🏾‍♂️

Wheelchair-friendly wrap- Final update! It's finally finished! Thanks everyone for all the help~

I know the back is a little messed up-- I made the mistake of going for a hexagon rather than a pentagon like the pattern had suggested and it meant that I had to level the back as much as possible. It's far from perfect and not steamed yet, but it's gotta fly back to my grandma tomorrow so it's going imperfectly perfect. I did choose a wave trim instead of the double-crochet picot and I like it.

So on that note-- would anyone find use in a adjustable pattern for this? For example, something that you can add slits for both arms, lengthen or shorten the back etc? if people are interested I'll reach out to the original pattern designer that I adapted and see what their thoughts are about potentially allowing me to produce a still free, credited alteration pattern. I'm far from a pattern designer, but it wouldn't be hard to adapt the existing one I don't think.

Thanks for the all the help everyone, I hope she loves it!

Made my first ever bucket hat!! I used the Kelp Bucket Hat pattern by PassioKnit Goods, a 5mm hook, and Loops & Threads Classic Cotton in Iris, Burgundy, and Bubblegum. It worked up pretty quickly! I made it to wear to the BTS concert I'm going to in August, but I think it'll be a great spring and summer hat too.

I'm not sure if posting links to not-free written patterns is allowed, so here's the YouTube tutorial for the hat! https://youtu.be/_ntJ0kzV9Eo?si=viWXlo6xr2Qyeq5S

After nearly 6 hours of trial and error, I finally figured it out. Received 6 different color skeins of this yarn. The pattern on the label leaves about 20-44 inches of last color supposededly to be used to sew the finished squares together, but I didn't like that idea and the squares came out all uneven. Instead, I figured out how to make it a solid granny square and I think it looks way better than the Yarnspirations pattern.
