Live speaking…leaning into more me and less forced “creator” mold. Sorry about the gum in my mouth.

Anyway, I’ve heard horror stories from other silver sisters about people in their real lives saying the most out-of-pocket and downright mean things to them during their gray hair growout.

To be honest, I expected that too when I decided to grow mine out.

In the beginning, the reactions from people in my life were pretty typical—shock and horror—but for the most part, the response hasn’t been nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

I don’t know if that means the narrative around gray hair is changing and it’s becoming more socially acceptable, or if my experience is just different. But what shocked me the most was the number of men who have LOVED the gray hair.

I hope your gray hair growout experience is more about support, too. And if anyone is mean to you about it… they’re weird. 😂

Gray hair truth: Cloudy, overcast days vs. sunny days ☁️ ☀️ But bestie…the rad days far outweigh the blah days 😉

And before anyone thinks I’ve suddenly become a rich influencer with a pool… nope. Not my pool. Just one of the perks of house sitting. 😉

I’ve always found speaking videos really difficult. 😅 There’s something weird about the pressure to perform a certain way on social media, especially when you’re literally talking to a camera lens. It’s awkward! 😅

Then your mind is like: Don’t ramble. Keep it under 1 minute. Make eye contact at all times. Hit all the talking points. Be yourself…but better. No presh lol

But today I let go of the perfectionism and posted my 2-minute video about my gray hair grow-out anyway.

Of course, I forgot some important details—like the fact that I avoided salons because I can’t afford it, I’ve been cutting my own hair throughout this gray hair grow-out, and the dye I once used was demi-permanent. 🤦🏻‍♀️
