Rosalee Mayeux’s journey to stand-up comedy has been anything but conventional. Born in an adoption home in Shreveport, Louisiana and raised on a rice farm, she went on to become a high-fashion Ford model in New York and Paris, appearing in more than 300 commercials and serving as the face of campaigns for major brands including Maybelline and Clairol. She also starred in films such as the cult classic The Lawnmower Man, Blast From the Past, and They Came From Outerspace.
She dreamed of directing car commercials and became an artist-in-residence in Quentin Tarantino’s commercial directing division. Then, she got diagnosed with cancer and was told there was no cure and no more time to live. She beat the odds and a career in standup was born.
She’s been a fixture on the comedy circuit nationwide and now just released her new TV special Rosalee Mayeux: Model Mom.She takes a bold and unfiltered dive into her life as a single parent raising two teenage boys and the chaos that ensues.
