Though the world may be blowing up, it is gay novelist and literary trailblazer Vincent Virga who is on FIRE. It's release week for part three of the Gaywyck Quartet: CREATURES OF LIGHT.

.. celebrate today May 30 their 61st anniversary celebration as a couple. James McCourt on the left, Vincent Virga on the right, in a photo by Laura Rubin taken in New York, probably E 22nd St late 1971 to 1972.

A majority of our titles are available as paperbacks. US residents may order from our ReQueered Tales Bookshop (only ships within the US). Amazon carries all the titles, too. Other chains like Barnes and Noble, Books a Million and indie stores list our books in their catalogues and can be special ordered in a few days.

What about outside the US? Our distribution is worldwide. Waterstones in the UK, for example, can (and pre-order) our books. Release day! Joseph Hansen is famous for his ground-breaking Dave Brandstetter mystery series. But he also wrote a series of stand-alone novels, often with gay themes or central characters.

Vincent Virga, born in Greenwich Village in 1942, was raised in a family of seven on Long Island. Vincent was obsessed with movies, and books, and pop music, and dancing, and had been Macy’s Most Beautiful Child – the foundation for a life somewhere over the rainbow. In 1964, he went to Yale’s Graduate School of Drama where he met James McCourt. In 1965, he “came out” in Paris in the shadow of Notre Dame and made an exclusive commitment to McCourt; they celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2025.

Vincent Virga has been called “America’s foremost picture editor.” He has researched, edited, and designed picture sections for more than 150 books, including Eyes of the Nation: A Visual History of the United States and Cartographia: Mapping Civilizations. He also spent over two decades working with the curators at the Library of Congress on 29 books.

Come out this Saturday May 9 at New York's Rainbow Book Fair at the LGBT Center at 13th St. Vincent is signing copies of his first three novels in his GAYWYCK QUARTET series in brand new editions from ReQueered Tales
